Jack Welch, Maria Bartiromo End BusinessWeek Columns

Two of BusinessWeek's more popular — and well-known — columnists are ending their columns now that Bloomberg LP has bought the magazine from McGraw-Hill.

Jack Welch, who has written a column for the magazine with his wife Suzy for four years, and Maria Bartiromo will no longer be writing for BusinessWeek when Bloomberg takes over.

"We did it for four years and it was tougher than we ever thought," Welch told the New York Post. "Every Sunday it was like a guillotine hanging over our heads."

Business Insider noted earlier in the day Friday that Bartiromo's FaceTime column would be coming to an end.

Someone that knows about Jack Welch is John Perkins in his latest book Hoodwinked he talks about the time when the Media in the late 70`s early 80`s was owned by 50 companies, and now it`s owned by 5 big companies Disney who owns ABC Viacom who owns CBS, GE who owns NBC, just to name a few, Amy Goodman of Democracynow.org had a great interview with him where he talks about this guy Welch a no good man.

I watch both of them all of the time on Morning Joe....Mr. Welch, while I don't always agree with him, is very thoughtful and I think he is honest and genuine and I appreciate his input and opinions...he is never straight partisan....Maria on the other hand makes my blood boil. I have no use for her.

you are right...I am not an expert on Jack Welch...he could be a royal arse for all I know....but on MJ...he has been blatantly open honest about the corruption and dealings on Wall Street and he is not straight partisan...in that he can very critical of those on the right as well as the left.

Has anyone notice Maria's appearance on the "Morning Joe" show lately. Her hair is unkempt and her eyes look glazed over. Most of the time, she waits to follow Joe lead, it like she can't allow her self to have express an opinion for fear of disapproval. Or she waiting, because she doesn't know the answer.

Was this man a CEO or a propaganda tool for Wall Street during the eighties and nineties? Did not GE make all of its money through its financial division; GE Capital? Hallelujah. Welch's conservative diatribes were a blot on an otherwise objectively written magazine. And Bartiromo's FaceTime interviews were increasingly leaning rightward as well. I like the direction BusinessWeek is going.
