The mind boggles at the implications of the Catholic Church being upset with masturbation. My fellow posters have already made all of the obvious jokes so I won't.
A real comment: Looking back at my childhood I remember how I learned and it was rather an embarrassing event. It would have been much better if someone had just told me how or if I could have felt comfortable enough to ask. Would have saved a bit of pain and discomfort from trying out a locker room rumor. Of course our society is so hung up about childhood sexuality that any adult even contemplating having an honest talk let alone a "show and tell" risks jail time.
The Catholic church would prefer any any masturbation of youths was done by its priests.
