When Oprah first came in the biz Bill Cosby told her to personally sign all of her checks. She did and hasn't had any management problems, issues with delinquent taxes or bad investments. The woman is a billionaire now. For a celeb to make all that money and not know where its going is insane. I'd surely want to know where it's going--not in someone else's pocket whose suppose to look after my best interest.

Whatever Nicolas Cage done with his money is his very own business. He earned it and it will be only him who will have to deal with poor management of his spending habits. But we must all keep in mind that until we walk in Nicolas Cage shoes, we ourselves dont know what we would be capable of doing while posessing so much money also. What I am bugging about with the IRS. Why do they always let these actors get so far behind in their taxes before auditing them. Why do the media and news reporters like to publicize people personal business to the public. I am pretty sure and hope that he will be able to recover from all this and not go to jail for taxes like so many other like Wesly Snipes.
Sammy Davis, Jr & Redd Foxx owed so much in taxes they had to auction off their personal items. Many celebs had just one mansion back in those days instead of several.
If I were a celeb coming into the biz I'd not only sign my checks but also have a back up for auditing my taxes.
Angelina & Brad give away so much because they can. It's a nice tax write off too.

Somehow, with illness, job loss, putting kids through college, and a WHOLE lot less money than this joker, we have managed to hang onto our house (1) and avoid bankruptcy. It should be a whole lot easier for this dude.
I was reading that they buy all those homes for tax shelters. There's barely any tax shelters left. If they didn't most of their salaries would go to taxes.
Look at Oprah, she has a $50,000,000 mansion in CA; condo in IL; home in Hawaii and other homes too. She can't live in all of them and can barely visit them so you know they're tax write offs.

I just don't get how actors and singers go bankrupt. Even if their money manager was doing a bad job, hello, you can check your account balance at any time. He never thought to do that??
Because as a rule, actors are not very bright, or they would be doing something more than playing pretend for a living.
