Sun Sentinel:

Former Vice President Al Gore's global-warming speech Saturday night at Mizner Park drew about a thousand attendees, as well as more than 200 loud protesters.

Stationed outside the Mizner Park Amphitheater, the protesters jeered at Gore as he took the podium and at those walking into the open-air venue to listen to the speech.

Anyone else find it interesting that one of the places that would be most affected by a modest sea level rise is so vocal against climate change?

Also many of the places which are most opposed from health care reform have the most to gain from it. I can only conclude that they'd rather hurt themselves than help someone they fear is undeserving.

Let's ask the dinasours. They obviously had a problems with the global warming summit during their time. Was it the cap and trade they couldn't agree upon, or was it their rich ruling class driving the SUV's that eventually led to their demise?

While Gore passionately speaks of 'hot air,' all these protesters can do is make hot air of their own. There is more to life than higher taxes and when the time comes, taxes will be the least of our concerns. Besides, countries with the highest taxes, tend to rank higher on the freedom index, conversely, countries with the lowest taxes, Kuwait for example have a tendency to have greater restrictions on an individual's personal freedoms.

Their idea of freedom of speech is that their speech should be heard over yours.

Here is the challenge. Look at the actual temperature data and give us your opinion about it. Not some screwy English Lord's viewpoint. Not George Will's. Or Al Gore's. Yours. Does the global temperature graph have a markedly upward swing, over the long haul, in your opinion? Or not?

Note: You will have to scroll down and make some choices of what you want to look at. It shouldn't be a problem. You have a mind of your own, right?

CO2 = 1/25th of 1% of the atmosphere. if you really believe a trace compound is going to doom us all, i have beach front propoerty in arizona for sale. 168 billion tons of co2 is dumped into the skies every year, less than 10 billion tons can be attributed to man. so unless you greenies can stop the plankton in the sea and volcanoes, please stop peddling this insanely idiotic line of grabage to me.

what you have is at best a correlation. no increase in temperature since 1998 according to the UN's international panel on climate change.

the temperature of the planet is FAR FAR FAR more dependant on solar activity (flares, spots) than CO2. so go back to the drawing board, earase the picture of polar beats you drew, and come up with a way to beat the sun, the volcanoes, and plankton, and get back to me.

you think youre the only one who can post links? 1/25th of 1% is a trace element. the chemistry of our atmosphere is CONSTANTLY changing..it isnt constant. so to call it 'very specific' is not only scientificly wrong, it's borderline lunacy.

Injecting yourself with less than 1/25 of 1% of your body weight of heroin will kill you.

The effect of every poison is dose related, and lethal dose is different for every poison. Same goes for CO2 in the atmosphere.

If you think trace compounds can't doom one, think about what a trace of cyanide or arsenic can do to your day.

"The fact that CO2 increases in the past 150 years are due virtually entirely to human activities is so well established that one rarely sees it questioned." What is happening is that we are putting it in faster than it is being removed. So the last 25% of CO2 in the atmosphere is caused by humans. Go bite a teacher if you don't understand isotopic analysis or calculus.
Yes 1998 was warmer. Will you apologize for this diatribe in 2010 or 2011 or whenever the next hotter-than-ever year occurs? The statistical trend is up. Climate is something that is measured in decades. I am sorry for you if you can't grasp that.

If the sun is causing the warming, how come the Oceans reached their HIGHEST TEMPERATURE EVER THIS JULY 2009, but solar activity at the same time was low?

Reply    Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 12:59 PM on 11/16/2009

are you really comparing cyanide and arsenic to CO2? which plant life requires cyanide to live? I will apologize in 2011 if you will apologize now for the last ten years of running around like chicken little screaming "the sky is falling, the sky is falling" yet no warming. but man continues to release CO2. CO2 is not a pollutant it is a naturally occuring compound in the atmosphere that is required for life on Earth to survive.

Climate is measure in decades... and the last decade shows no warming. explain why the 1930s were so much hotter than the 40s,50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s? did man-made global warming stop for those 50 years?

And you want an answer as to why the ocean is warmer.. natural fluctuations in current, el nino, la nina.... many thousands of reasons. but i guess you would rather believe those plankton have increased their CO2 output and have cause all this i guess....

read this, i dont have the time to explain it to you:

also you realize that there are undersea volcanic activity that could be contributing to ocean warming too right? no it's the CO2 in water now? laughable.

Lord Monckton is a leader of the most rabid conservatives in England who coudn't even get elected to the House Of Lords. He has zero scientific background in any area let alone atmospheric or biological sciences. He is on a compaign on behalf of all who have a financial interest in maintaining the staus quo of buring fossil fuels. He, therfore, has no problem with oil, gas, coal and nuclear industries externalzing their costs on the enviorment and society in order to avoid regulation to maintain the highest possible profit.

A Google search will allow anyone to examine his lacking curriculum viate, he association with right wing groups and industry. Expanding the search to organizations who have outed his own lies and misleading information on climate change is available as well. Tell us in detail Banned in Boston why you are so vehemently opposed to reducing the global emissions of C02 and what your sustainable approach is to energy produstion. You might as well tells what industry you work in and at what level.
