NEW YORK — Janet Jackson blames Dr. Conrad Murray for her brother Michael's death.

She told ABC News in an interview to air Wednesday that Murray should no longer be allowed to practice medicine. "He was the one that was administering," Jackson said. "I think he is responsible."

Prosecutors in Los Angeles are weighing charges against Murray in the pop singer's death. Murray told police he administered a powerful anesthetic to the singer shortly before Jackson died June 25.

A spokeswoman for the doctor, Miranda Sevcik, said Monday he continues to maintain he neither prescribed or administered anything to Jackson that should have killed him.

Jackson told ABC's Robin Roberts that she was at her home in New York on June 25 when her assistant called to say Michael had been taken to the hospital. She told relatives to call her when they got to the hospital and grew concerned when she wasn't getting any calls back.

She says that a day doesn't go by when she doesn't think of Michael. "It just didn't ring true to me. It felt like a dream," she said. "It's still so difficult for me to believe.

Saw "This Is It." Loved it. It was like visiting an old friend. Been a fan since 1969. Seeing the artistic process of putting the show together makes me admire Jackson even more. He was at the top of his game and knew his "Stuff." Seem to be in Great Shape executing those famous dance moves. Was in full voice in singing those familiar songs. Seemed mentally alert. He was funny at times. I became misty eyed when footage of the Jackson 5 was shown. Wish he made a better choice in doctors to treat his insomia as he did getting the "Right" people to aid him in putting this concert together. It would have been an brilliant and entertaining show.

I agree that Michael Jackson was partly responsible for his own death (he was addicted). But the Doctor-Patient relationship was breached in that Murray let the patient dictate to him how medication was administered. The "Buy A Doc" Dr. Feel Goods should be shut down. Murray should have said, " NO!"
"If I give you more medication you could die." Should have stood his ground no matter what was being paid to him

I would compare MJ's life to that of an Australian thornbird. It impales itself on a thorn, sings a most beautiful song, and dies.

Just because you think that doesn't mean it's true. Perhaps Michael took a little too much of everything over the years.. Including the Jesus juice!

I know she loves and misses her brother but she is wrong Dr. Murray helped his death along but in the end Michael Jackson was responsible for his own death. The whole family knew he was in trouble and when they tried to help he cut them off and in the end they agreed to keep quiet they should have gone public but even that was not guarantee he would have stopped using.

MJ is responsible for MJ's death. No one else. The universe paid him back for all his bedroom antics with young boys.

Michael Jackson was a once-in-a-hundred-year brilliant comet that lit up our lives for such a brief time. I feel lucky to have been alive when he was. For all of those self-righteous, self-appointed judges who feel compelled to condemn him, know this: Several generations from now, when you are not only gone, but there is no one alive who evens remembers you ever existed, Michael's musical genius will live on in his magnificent songs, flawless voice, incomparable musical phrasing, graceful and passionate dancing, and his generous and loving humanitarian work. He's part of history now. As for those who love to judge others, like the man said: Take a look at yourself.

Rest in peace, Michael. And my heartfelt sympathy to your wonderful mother, sisters, and children.

Yawn... and he will still be known as a man who spent time with little boys! I agree he was a great musician & dancer... other than that the man was a freak.

He gave a patient a drug he was not qualified to prescribe or administer, he didn't monitor the patient carefully and then when the patient was in distress, he failed to get help in a timely manner in the hope that he could "fix" his mistake. Yes, MJ was an addict, but as a Doctor, he had the final power to say NO, his greed made him do other wise. He is negligent.

Doctors are given the privilege to prescribe drugs after they have gone through an extensive education. (and I think a background check) They are required to NOT prescribe drugs to addicts. Like lawyers, doctors are legally held to a higher standard of conduct than your average guy on the street. Though Michael allegedly abused drugs, this in no way excuses the doctor that overmedicated him. That doctor should feel the full (blunt) force of the law and the AMA.

I saw This Is It. He had all of the resources in the world to get a reputable doctor for insomnia. People who want Dr. Feelgood get doctors like Conrad.
