Obama

CQ Politics :

For months, President Obama was like an ATM for the media, dispensing answers to questions with what seemed like just the push of a button.

The president was swamping the airwaves, printing presses and the Web with a nonstop fusillade of interviews, news conferences and even town hall meetings. In the latter arena, he would on occasion beg one of the locals with an opposing view to lob a question his way.

He's hiding from all the failures.

I am glad that President Obama has not held a press conference in long time since it these same bloviating beltway pundits and media critters who were criticizing him for holding too many of them. Any one at the time remember how they were claiming that he was "over-exposing himself" - look it up and you can see the comments made by media at the time

Global,
You're kidding, right? This should be about the voters--the Americans who put him in office not worrying about pundits. Good grief!

If he holds a press conference, he'll have to answer those tough questions--as in where he stands on health care reform--ooopps, I mean health "insurance" reform and this vague "public option" the deals cut with big pharma, why health reform is being written by the insurance cartel and why he excluded certain groups from debating health care reform--such as the PNHP docs.

My God! And i guess he must be a complete failure! After all, he has been in office for almost a year and he hasn't changed the entire world yet. He also has not fixed the economic situation that he created yet ( the one that Bush and the Rethugs take no responsibility for!). And although people are resisting health care reform and any new tax for the wealthy and the wealthy are sitting on their investment money, he has not been able to bring the unemployment rate down to 1%! This man is a failure....he has had ten and a half months and he has not done this stuff!!!!!

How long are you going to hide behind that old argument? The Bush administration tried to warn Congress about Freddie Mac and Sallie Mae in 2004 and 2005 and were rebuked by Maxine Waters and Barney Frank. The Dems have controlled congress and the Senate for a few years now. And all that "outrageous" spending by the Bush administration is a fraction of what Obama has done.

Bush did no big favors to the country, but this mess is Obama's.

Hard to hold a Press Conference when bowing in Japan. Hard to read the teleprompter.

It is polite when one bows to the level of the other person's shoulder. If President Obama is a foot taller than the other person, how do you propose he do that without bending? His protocol was spot on.

Too many Americans need to become a more international and less ignorant about the world at large.

Guess what! The world does not begin and end with the US. There is a big world out there and until and unless we start to lose our arrogance and deal with people politely, we are in deep doo doo!

I disagree. As world leaders one should not bow to the other. Period. On the world stage they respect one another as equals. As for the US and their arrogance, this is the greatest nation on earth. Defenders and Liberators. Hopefully you weren't on the apology tour.

Hey, there's nothing wrong with bowing in Japan--it's a show of respect.
If you were educated about Japanese culture--you'd know that.

I'm a Dem--not happy with Obama--esp. on health care but I'm not going to allow him to be bashed for this.
That's silly season!

What other President bowed? Japanese bow to each other. Depending on status. Our status is not beneath them. Or have I missed something? Eye contact is also key. Additionally eye contact is difficult when reading from a teleprompter or bowing.

One day they say he's overexposed. The next they say he's hiding out.

And that is the point. for some people President Obama will never do anything right. They have vowed to hound this man in an attempt to hound him out of office. What sickens me is the Dems who are selfish enough to help them.

Don't we have a job czar?

Reply    Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 08:51 PM on 11/17/2009

Explain this to me, exactly what is the president suppose to do to create more jobs. It has been a talking point of the Republicans for decades that the government doesn't create jobs. it's the private sector that does. They have received trillions of tax payers money, but Republicans blame the president for the lack of jobs.

Exactly. This President promised more jobs. Holding a summit overseas (again). Guess I'll wait for work. Those "they" you speak of are the banks and the auto companies. Not Ford though. Go Ford! Record Profits! No stimulus money. Rock on Ford!!!!

Dissent is patriotic but it should be focused. Here are some example's of what I am talking about: Dylan Ratagan was discussing the AIG protest- There were a few hundred people that showed up- He asked where is everybody? The polls show that we are angry at Wall Street- apparently not enought to have 50,000 or more people show up. The polls show that we want healthcare reform but the rallys didn't reflect that. The Tea Partiers showed up on the day of the healthcare vote where were the supporter's of healthcare reform they stayed home. Six people have been showing up at Lieberman's office. I never believed that President Obama could get everything done without us showing up. I didnt think we would give in so easily.I waited 8 yrs to get Bush out of office. What bothered the opposition was the huge number of people who took action. They couldn't deny the support for President Obama we saw it Look at the pictures. Why do you think they went after Acorn? It would of made alot more sense to go after contractors that get billions of dollars a yr- The opposers are using all the old tricks- Watch Sicko. This is a repeat performance. When President Obama got elected he said this isn't about me this is about you and this wouldn't be easy.

Been there. Saw that. Acorn makes/ check that made millions. Not sure of your point though.

We have all heard President Obama's oratorial skills. Talk is cheap and outrageous when it is bald faced lies. I am tired of benign terms like "flip flop" that give the impression that someone changed their mind or were somehow convinced otherwise.
Never mind what we've HEARD. Anyone who hasn't SEEN enough can only be in denial. I don't want to hear any more of what our president has to say or any MORE of the excuses & rationalizations from the elect-a-Democrat-no-matter-what crowd. They have let the country down HARD.

Wow. I presume you don't care for our President.

He is trying his best for Lord knows how the last admin left us in a huge mess.

Am wondering how the Repubs would have handled Bushie's mess.

I've been around for quite awhile on this dear old earth and let me say, it will all turn out favorably. Have seen these politics time and time again and all this posturing. Everything seems to turn around in the end game. Just you wait and see.
I'm not a bit worried how President Obama is handling our economy. He has surrounded himself with some of the most intelligent people around. Not to worry.

you have the intellectual depth of a sch.ott glass. it is SO easy to sit back and throw stones. In your case, you are paid to do so, hoping against hope with every fiber of your paid master's beings, that the narrative of nothing is happening begins to stick. fact is, After the dark era that was republican rule, Obama could go into the oval office each day and stand on his head for 10 hours watching cartoons, and it will STILL be a vast improvement.

but contnued luck to you selling and convincing people not to believe you instead of their own eyes.

Bless your heart! ! And to think, you have to endure at least three more years of your agony. I cannot deny that over my lifetime, I’ve seen more than enough of the “whats” and “hows” that sometimes gets this country off course. However, I’ve also seen my fair share of the greatness of what Americans can together achieve. So I’ll keep listening - to stay informed, keep vigilantly watching - to remain aware, keep exercising my right to be heard, and keep working towards the solution. I refuse to give up because of the current challenges/ problems or give in to presumptions/speculations that can emerge from fear. What helps me in trying times is my unwavering faith and what I gleaned from Rudyard Kipling’s “If”: keeping my head when all about me are losing theirs and blaming it on me; waiting and not being tired by waiting; dreaming and not making dreams my master; thinking and not making thoughts my aim. And meeting with triumph and disaster treating both impostors the same… So no matter who’s the president, no matter what party’s in control of Congress, no matter what challenges this country faces, if I do my part to standup for what’s right and not give up because things have gone wrong; constructively criticize and not destructively ostracize who or what I disagree with/on. And if I actively work to help meet America’s challenges, I’ll be a woman - trying to make a difference.

ENOUGH ALREADY WITH THE WHINING MSM

First it was President Obama is over-exposed.

Now it's he hasn't paid attention to us for 4 months.

The last time I checked, attending to the WHINING needs of the MSM is NOT included in the President's job description.
