Sarah Palin's Hair History: Which Do's Are Don'ts? (PHOTOS, POLL)

First Posted: 03/18/10 06:12 AM ET   Updated: 05/25/11 03:40 PM ET

With today's appearance on "Oprah" and tomorrow's official release of her Going Rogue, former governor and VP candidate is stepping back into the spotlight in a big way. And one of the things we've missed most is her singular style and ever-evolving hair. Palin will be doing a lot of media, so tell us which hair she should wear on-air.

Or see a slideshow of Palin's most memorable style moments and a slideshow of Palin's post-defeat duds.

Why does her hair always look like she uses Bump-Its?

I think, therefore I am, I think?

I think it should be combed completely over her face, muffling her voice.

It would be interesting to see her for once without make up on. Because it doesn't matter what she is doing, she always has it on. Palin even said it herself that when she is running and not wearing make up no one recognizes her without her "trough" of make up on.

She could be bald and I wouldn't care about her. She is a cancer on society.

So it was Sarah, not Courtney, who played Monica in high school?
05:34 PM on 11/16/2009
Yes! Good one...

My first thought was, "Who cares about Sarah Palin's past, current, or future hair-dos?" I will watch the Oprah Show with guest, Sarah Palin only to see Oprah's interview of her. I agree with the woman who wrote, "The dumbing down of America continues!" And why is HuffPost even talking about this? I thought HuffPost was for intelligent people???

You thought huffpo was for intelligent people? Why?

(the longer that you are here, the more you see that this is a site interested in one things only....I used to think that it was a liberal blog.......no, it isn't........the thing that it wants to do is incite people to argue so that it will get more clicks and clicks mean money) It is not trustworthy.

Looking at these pictures, it has struck me that Sarah has had work done. Now most celebrities are expected to, and indeed, do have cosmetic work done, but for someone who was an obscure governor of Alaska up until August of 2008, it seems more unusual. Additionally, most women in politics do not have work done, for the express purpose of demonstrating that they want to be taken seriously and not be mistaken for a bubblehead whose concern is more for her looks than her brain. Ah, but that’s the problem, isn’t it?

Anyway, her approach to the vice presidential campaign was utterly seductive. For those who recall the lovely Geraldine Ferraro, an elegant, very well-dressed (her own duds) woman who was all business on the vice presidential campaign trail, this has been an unwelcome change. For women seeking equality in the work place, attempting to advance through seductive gestures, e.g., continually winking her way through the vice presidential debate, is a million steps backward.

I believe that it will not take too many more years before she looks absolutely the tart, and to my eye already does with her excess of blusher and recurring bird’s nest hairdo.

According to my brother-in-law, a dermatologist, the city that does the most plactic surgery is Washington DC. Both men and women politicians have "stuff" done.

I was thinking that she doesn't even look like the same person she did in high school.

Who does?

The tatooed lip liner, as she ages, is going to be a problem. Fortunately she's got good hair.

I don't give a hoot what kinda' doo the woman's got, she still looks and acts like the bad witch of the West.

Seems Sarah has adopted a wig for her Oprah appearance.
01:37 AM on 11/17/2009
I thought so, too. If not a wig, a hairpiece to give her height and width across the crown.
02:14 PM on 11/16/2009
I still hate her.
