Shields was prescribed medication, though she stopping taking it one point, thinking she didn't need them. "That was the week I almost did not resist driving my car straight into a wall on the side of the freeway," she told the crowd. "My baby was in the back seat and that even pissed me off because I thought she's even ruining this for me. I just wanted to drive into the wall and my friend stayed on the phone with me and made me safely get home."

Please stop talking about it for the sake of your children Brooke!

Sorry, I don't buy it, Brooke.

Nor did I buy into Marie Osmond's excuse for going off the deep end.

I feel sorry for their kids having to put up with neurotic Mommy saying anything to get attention.

Strange, someone so beautiful feeling that way, she can do anything she wants.
I was just telling someone the other day that my life would have turned out very differently had I been beautiful.
More Irony.

And your kids need to hear the Narrative one more time because if you seem to fear that if you don't harp on that story, there is no story - or maybe they'll forget the trauma they caused and what they owe you for having had them, that Mommy went through SO MUCH to have them.
Use a thinking cap, buck up a tad, and come up with a new story, like - giving birth is a big , big deal, but amazingly, we get over it, we heal and we don't make it dinner conversation - at least for the sake of your children.

Thank you, lili!

I've always considered myself a strong person and to me, that just emphasized that this can happen to anyone from any walk of life.

The more women speak up, confront it, the more support there will be.

Regards:)

Haven't we heard all this insanity before from Brooke? Has she no pride? Last time she got attacked by loony Cruise and the Scientologists then the following week she's in Italy at his wedding. Brooke, go away and do something, anything worthwhile. We just don't believe you.

Does she have to stir Tom Cruise with that? Bottom line: she DIDNT drive into a wall. Non-issue

You have to forgive Brooke, she hasn't been in the news much lately.

Tubal ligation, Brooke.

I've been a fan and follower of Brooke since I was a child. She was (and continues to be) a role model for me. She is the confluence of intelligence and beauty and uses her celebrity to shed light on issues many people are unwilling or unable to confront. Any displays of contempt for her stem either from jealous women or misogynists.

Good for Brooke. I don't see this as boring or self-serving at all. Keeping this to oneself just perpetuates the suffering, and in some cases, death.

P.S. to Brooke: it's not too late .. DO IT already - so we won't have to hear anymore about how depressed you were all those years ago.

whatever happened to keeping things to yourself? i know these celebs always say that they put this kind of info out to help other people, or shed light on these issues, but it always comes across as self-serving and attention-seeking. it always does.
