Andrew Cuomo is using a Rose Garden strategy thus far. As an undeclared candidate - he so far is doing well in the pre-campaign sweepstakes because he hasn't said anything or made any mistakes. Spitzer did the same thing 4 years ago -- but was coming off a wildly successful run as the AG/Sheriff of Wall Street. The record for Cuomo is actually more complicated than Spitzer's. He's got skeletons that will come out -- such has his tenure as HUD Secretary under President Clinton -- very mixed reviews.

Will Cuomo hold up under the klieg lights? Also -- don't completely underestimate Rick Lazio -- who's picked up the "Fix Albany" mantle -- such as advocating a unicameral legislature (tremenous idea!!). Fresh face/blank slate vs a seasoned political pro with lots of dings on the armor.
