None of these excite me. I spend enough time looking at a screen, why would I want to add more? Thanks, but no thanks. I'll stick to reading books the old-fashioned way. Plus, there's nothing like turning a page, feeling the book in your hands and the general feeling of curling up with a good book.

Not "curling up with a good Kindle."

I've researched this ad nauseum because I wanted to be sure which features I'd be happy with in order to avoid buyers remorse. Sure, something better will come out later but I was at least hoping that it wouldn't be the day after I purchased.

Here's a great comparison chart of everything that's on the market:

I tried the few that I could try including playing with a friend's 6" kindle (I know, sounds perverted, doesn't it?) and detailed by conclusions here:

I decided on the Kindle but the new, yet-to-be-released 7" Sony Touch Daily Edition looked good...they just can set a firm date for delivery and before Christmas does not seem certain.

I am an early adopter of the Kindle - recently had an accident with my first generation Kindle, and thankfully Amazon offers a deal where you can purchase a refurbished 1st Gen. Kindle for $99 (with the return of your broken one).

I'm in love with my Kindle - wanted to keep the first generation because of the option of the SD card (where I can store a backup of the books I want to read if traveling to a foreign country - not willing to pay the VAT prices if traveling with an international Kindle) Also love the convenience & traveling light with it.

I AM very disappointed that the article did not have a decent review of the Nook. The Nook does have the ability to loan a friend a copy of the book. Wish Amazon would let me do that. It would actually make me consider the Nook if friends start buying it.

None of them do what I have actually sent in as a suggestion to Amazon - with the Kindle, you can have up to 5 devices on one account that all share the same books. Amazon has a decent number of childrens/young adult books available on the Kindle, but if you and your child are on the same account, your child could download your books as well as his or her own. There should be a parental "filter" available.

I have a novel idea. How about a book?
