Mother Jones:

On Monday, Karl Rove sent a tweet to his 92,000 followers: "Don't sit out: 9:30am 11/18 Dirksen Senate Bldg Rm G-50 to oppose Atty Gen's testimony on trying terrorists on U.S. soil." On Tuesday, Newt Gingrich dispatched a similar message to his 1.2 million Twitter devotees: "Join @keepamericasafe at 9:30am Wed at Dirksen Senate Bldg to protest Holder's testimony on bringing terrorists to US." Keep America Safe is Elizabeth Cheney's new hawkish group--neocon godfather Bill Kristol is one of its three board members--and on Tuesday it tweeted followers:

Dick Cheney, Liz Cheney, Rove, Gingrich, Kristol, ect. ect. will be against anything that President Obama says or does. If the President had said he wanted the trial @ Gitmo, they would be screaming to have it in New York .

Can someone explain to me why they are scared? If it were me I would be like wow the people we captured are coming to trial to face justice, great. Our administration did that period and say its our handy work. But why all this fear.

Karl Rove and Cheney are concerned more evidence linking them to war crimes will come out. They have no doubt our courts can handle KSM

Does anyone know if Gingrich or Rove showed up at this hearing? I mean, if you are telling everyone to attend in order to keep America safe, shouldn't you be there too?

this trial would be over and done if Bush/Cheney hadn't been dithering for 8 years

We can handle an open trial in the United States. I'm looking forward to the trials of Bush and Cheney. I hope they are televised. I want to see Liz Cheney when her daddy is led away in handcuffs.

It seems that the Republican party - the party who is always ready to attack anyone anywhere in order to convert them to democracy - does not itself trust democracy.

"One cannot observe it objectively without being impressed by its curious distrust of itself—its apparently ineradicable tendency to abandon its whole philosophy at the first sign of strain. I need not point to what happens invariably in democratic states when the national safety is menaced. All the great tribunes of democracy, on such occasions, convert themselves, by a process as simple as taking a deep breath, into despots of an almost fabulous ferocity. Lincoln, Roosevelt and Wilson come instantly to mind....." -- H.L. Mencken

All that noise and feathers, and still cannot attract anything worthwhile, just a bunch a sterile types like themselves... But not to worry, Fox already had footage long before the event never took place.

The terrorist act was committed on U.S. soil against U.S citizens. The perpetrators should be tried on U.S. soil . The U.S. didn't have any trouble finding Nazis and having them deported for trial in the U.S. We did it so much Germany eventually demanded we release all Nazis detained in the U.S. back to Germany.

The GOP to me is anything but. They've forgotten U.S. roots. Under that party we've lost more rights than I've ever seen and handed them over to corporate America. And now their reaction is that of a bunch of "Fraidy Cats." Bring a few terrorists here and there will be an attack? If it's that easy to do, they would have done it by now. I still think 9/11 was allowed to happen because the Republican lead country sure had "b--ls to go off against most of the world and attack IRAQ! That was the craziest way of protecting us against Al Quaeda and no one wants to talk about it. There were no WMD's to begin with. So what??? That's what we should be asking and having trials for that crime--duping the citizens of this country.

After all that happened, the overwhelming turnout for Obama and even Hillary, I think the GOP should sit in the corner and keep their mouth shut, maybe take notes on what the MAJORITY of Americans want and that "ain't" Palin.

Sheeple every one. And that pesky media sure has a way of turning a handful into a herd, on the screen that is.
