Fox News is anything but business. Don IMUS?

Wingnuts may trust Fox News, but they don't trust Fox News Business with their money.

It is certainly one thing to put blind faith into a political news channel with an agenda that matches a personal bias.

It's completely different to put money on the line to support an agenda.

It's also a different demographic from the core channel. The more rual, lower income, and lesser degreed viewers of Fox news are unlikely to have investment money and wouldn't watch any financial network.

It's says a lot that a staple is Dave Ramsey. He's not a stock guy and doesn't want to be. He a financial makeover advisor with a single message of quit spending, you have too much debt. That works for Fox news viewers, but stop spending is not what Wall Street wants the consumer to do. Wonder how long that conflict lasts.

Way to go Rupert! Show them how it's done. I'm sure in 2-3 years no one will laugh at Fox Business' ratings. They will all cry like CNN who used to laugh at Fox News.

It may be available to 3 million, but few will care, and those that watch, will likely do so once and run. The only decent business broadcast worth anyone's time is Bloomberg but they seem to have an advertising problem. There is no reason to interrupt an interview with someone important in the business news to cut to a shamwow ad. CNBC has better graphics and visual format, but for one's sanity, you have to mute the sound. With a few exceptions, everyone of the hosts will drive you nuts with their conservative rants. They still scream about the virtues of "free market" capitalism. Just report the business news and don't try to spin it, ideologically.

Fox Business on Cablevision is no big deal, but the prospect of Cablevision buying NBC is disastrous.

Great. The network that no one watches goes into 3 million more homes. Meanwhile, people can't get MSNBC anywhere.......

Thank Imus, his show is driving this. The channel's business news is lousy. However, CNBC's cheerleaders are just painful to watch and maybe this will force them to get innovative (and accurate). Start by firing Dennis Kneale and Michelle Caruso Cabrera. The only smart talent they had (Dylan Ratigan) already jumped ship to MSNBC.

Imus is only 1/10th the personality he was in the 70s and 80s and his guest list no longer includes the A list politicians from his MSNBC days; but he has the only show that isn't the same cookie cutter "Today" show format in the morning. It's a wasteland out there, and warts and all, Imus just needs to bring a few extra points in the ratings and the channel will get a jolt.

Now if Fox can only figure out how to get into each of the 3 million possible customers homes and turn
their televisions on to their "Business" network.

Hmmmm
