What's Your Reaction?

He's not on "Idol" anymore!

Adam Lambert, last season's runner up, performed a raunchy performance at the American Music Awards Sunday night, interrupted by a quick tumble on stage.

Lambert alternately had a dancer on a leash, had a dancer's head grinding against his crotch simulating oral sex, and had a hand on his own crotch. He also made out with a male band member and flipped his middle finger.

And it was on ABC prime time.

Scroll for video of the fall, the whole performance and check out the below photos:

So let me get this straight...when Madonna french kisses Britney and Christina on TV its okay? When Madonna tells people to "suck George Bushes d*ck" in public its okay? When Madonna flips the bird in public its okay? When Madonna simulates sex in public its okay? Seriously people, you are just trying to stir the pot and GOD FORBID there is man on man in public. God forbid that the straight men that run the industry have to be exposed to something other then what gets their d*ick hard. Let me club in on something...not everyone is a George Bush loving, narrow minded, Republican with a stick in their backdoor.........if it doesn't apply to you or not your cup of tea, change the channel because no one wants to hear you.

"He's not on "Idol" anymore!" WTF, really?... If anything I would say this reinforces a strong gay following making him more of an idol then ever. But then there are so many other things to worry about then boys kissing on TV.

It's images like this, that reinforce negative gay stereotypes and justify people voting against gay marriage. I'm just sayin....

Why is this important? He's right, he's not a babysitter, he's a performer. Parents, it's our job to decide what our kids watch!

Anybody who doens't think this is exactly the reaction he wanted is truly a sucker.

He won.

We're talking about him, you're writing about him.......

When he grabs his crotch, I think he's trying to be the next Michael.

When he simulates sex, I think he's trying to be the next Madonna.

So, he could consider a name change to Madichael.

It might work.

"The Adam Lambert brouhaha resulting in a sales winner... Adam Lambert is on track to beat retail expectations for his RCA release, "For Your Entertainment," according to early returns compiled by keeper-of-the-charts Billboard Magazine... Billboard writes that "For Your Entertainment" should sell at least 225,000 copies when it debuts on next week's chart, and could possibly move more with post-Thanksgiving shoppers invading retailers.... Lambert's sales will be right in line with many a recent "Idol," and will far surpass those of Kris Allen. "

Eat it, haters.

ROFL.

So what?

He makes money.

He's good at it.

Calm yourself -- He's not THAT important.
BossyErudite   03:42 PM on 11/26/2009
LMAO!!!

I had hoped that Adam would have sold more, but it's still a good first week showing for a new artist (especially an openly gay male one). I am surprised that he managed to sell more than the beloved, squeeky clean, and openly christian winner of American Idol, Kris Allen. If Adam Lambert's supposed offensiveness is a career killer, then Kris Allen's non-offensiveness should have definitely been a career maker! Seems just the opposite of that right now. Kris Allen only sold about 85K his first week and Adam Lambert is on track to sell about 3X as much. Go figure? I heard Susan Boyle was on track to sell about 1M worldwide her first week. I wonder what Adam's worldwide sales are, especially after reading on another post how high his album rankings were in other countries. I guess truth will tell 12/2/09.

It wasn't interesting when Madonna did it.

Isn't the element of a good artist their ability to subtly convey a message or idea? This is as far from subtle as we'll ever get.

No

Ah listen, in fairness it was broadcast at eleven o'clock on a school night, kids shouldn't have been watching it in the first place. Besides, why should we care so much about this when he can hardly sing? His cover of Muse's 'Starlight' was a complete mess compared to the original
KWangnoo   01:26 AM on 11/26/2009
11 EASTERN, yes...but there's a whole lot of USA behind EST. I wasn't offended at all...too busy laughing at the whole trainwreck.
deisegirl   02:15 PM on 11/25/2009
I don't really care what he does. I lost all interest in him when he tried to sing Muse and failed miserably.

sloppybear16   01:09 AM on 11/26/2009
Amen, MUSE's version is much better. MUSE is going to be on SNL on Dec 19th too. Finally going to get some better recognition here in the States. It's about time.

Those predicting the imminent collapse of his career must not be acquainted with the name Bowie.

KInda pleased to say that I've never seen this man nor heard him sing and from the pictures, not sure that I'd want to BUT all of this is a time-honored shtick. If you find his behavior unacceptable, I'm thinking that your opinion doesn't count for much, beyond yourself.

...he's no Bowie.

Thank God! I know Adam is a huge fan of Bowie, but I never thought he was all that great. Adam could sing circles around Bowie!

We need to protect our children from this filth.

And I don't mean the displays of sexuality--that's probably good for them to see. What I mean is this noxious effluvium spewed by our culture industry.

In other words, Adam Lambert's music and music like it is bad for you and your children. Protect them from this sludge that drips from the underside of our culture machine.
bswell   01:21 PM on 11/25/2009
I was a big AdamLambert fan, and I don't care what he does, grabs, kisses or shows. My problem is the quality of the music, which was dreadful. All the attention-grabbing stuff is secondary. Please, find some decent songs or reinterpret some good old ones, and I'm talking about performances such as "Ring of Fire" on American Idol...............
Lyn91   01:40 PM on 11/25/2009
Agreed.

bobbyperu   03:28 PM on 11/25/2009
His version of "Ring of Fire" is an abom in ation. Johnny Cash should have risen from his grave and stra ngl ed him for it.
vzcc   04:12 AM on 11/26/2009
You obviously don't know much about Johnny Cash. He was a rebel. He would have really dug Adam's version of Ring Of Fire. Adam sang that song the way it was meant to be sung!
Emily Lynne Cross   01:05 PM on 11/25/2009
I think he pretty much screwed his career. ABC took his show off good morning america!! This mistake may cost him. Okay, and for those of you who said he took bad advice, I agree. It may have been so, but I hope his "advisors" understand that this was a huge faux pas. So huge, it could ruin his career. It's sad that this happened to him because he was good on American Idol.
Now, I know someone will pull some B.S. to me about how I just hate gay people, well their wrong. My best friend is actually gay, and even he said that Adam went too far. So, yeah.
madfigs   01:30 PM on 11/25/2009
I don't understand how ABC thought having an artist perform a sexy song with S&M themed dancers was totally perfect for primetime tv, but the performer kissing another man and getting "too close" to a scantily clad dancer was "WAY TOO FAR".
What did they think was going to happen??? You can't try to be edgy and push the envelope and not expect some sort of backlash.
The mistake was ABC thinking they are some sort of edgy broadcaster, not anything the performer did.

His "performances" might now only appeal to the fetish enthusiasts.
