Black Friday Deals 2009: The BEST Offers From Major Retailers (PHOTOS)

First Posted: 3/18/10   Updated: 5/25/11

Black Friday deals are coming early in 2009.

Partially due to the desperation of struggling retailers, the holiday shopping season kicked off a bit early this year, with a number of stores announcing major sales before the Black Friday discount frenzy that falls on November 27.

Major retailers, including Toys "R" Us, Walmart, Kmart and Sears are holding pre-Black Friday deals and promotions on their websites, so with the big day fast approaching, it may be time to start thinking about your shopping strategy for the holidays.

Here is a breakdown of what a few major retailers are offering. To do some research on your own, browse any number of the Black Friday specialty websites here, here and here.

Bloomberg reports that Kohl's will allow customers to start making Black Friday shopping lists at Kohls.com starting November 22. Keep an eye out for other retailers to follow suit. Toys "R" Us will open at midnight on the 27th, five hours earlier than in years past, The Baltimore Sun reports, and other retailers will open in the wee hours.

Walmart: Almost $200 Off Sony TVs

Walmart kicked off its Black Friday sale on November 14, offering savings on electronics, including a Sony Blu-Ray Disc player for $148. Walmart's Black Friday prices will offer discounts on a variety of items in clothing, home appliances and electronics, including a door-busting discount on a 46" Sony Bravia 1080P HDTV for $798.00 (normally listed for $979.00 on Walmart's website).

One should know that when it’s Black Friday, expect the unexpected! For Walmart, most stores open for 24 hours, beginning Thanksgiving through the end of the following day. Sales can begin quickly at 5:00am tomorrow. But expect that there are campers already ahead of you (Black Friday Fever) and keep in mind that its part of the tradition.//.

I didn't spend a dime on Black Friday...not contributing to a rigged economy run by globalists who have contempt for the working class while bailing out the big banks at tax payer expense.

I found a very nice gift at Walmart which was a Straight Talk prepaid cell phone, there are ice phones to choose from but it's the bundles that are such a good deal. There is the unlimited everything which gives unlimited minutes, texts and data for $45 a month or 1000 minutes, 1000 texts and 30mb of data for $30 a month with free 411 calls. I like it more than the other unlimited deals because Straight Talk is on Verizon's network nationwide which I think has the best coverage.

I would like a Who Ville Christmas to become the trend, just singing together and having fun with the gift of hanging out with friends and family. If that sounds hokey, it's because we've been brainwashed that nothing is meaningful unless we spent a lot of money on it.

Interesting enough, Toys”R”Us is using Scribd to display its 35 page, 120 plus product, Black Friday extravaganza within their Facebook Page. Fans can sift through the discounts, unearth the mystery deals, and of course share their enthusiasm with their Facebook friends.

Before we embark upon the mindless stampede to trample our neighbors at the door, to buy our rug rats the latest lead laced crap from china, that will fall apart and become landfill within a year, so we can perpetuate the idiotic Santa lie, don't forget to:

Starve the Beast!

Oh yeah...Happy Holidays

The catch 22 of all of this is that - if you do not spend no one will be hired!
01:45 PM on 11/26/2009
thats not your problem. you should save...

but encourage your neighbour to spend though !!

Eventually, what will be "not to like" is the ghost town your city will become when there are no more sales jobs, repair shops, specialty dealers, shopping malls or downtown districts to visit and enjoy, nor all the coffee shops, small restaurants and bakeries, interesting boutiques, barbershops, beauty parlors etc. that catered to all the people of your town who used to have a job in the local economy.

So you saved a few bucks, while the cumulative effect of following your "online shopping" advice broke down the fabric of life in your town. What a great bonus.

Only 4% of shopping is online. So if it is a wave, it is pretty small.

Black Friday will be gray this year. Nobody has any money! Once again American's are ramping up to get into more debt, buying things we can't afford. Isn't it bad enough that all of our homes and cars have been repossessed (see: http://www.repofinder.com)? I just hope we haven't forgotten what Christmas is all about
