Yes, Obey-Wan...I agree, we should withdraw our troops. Clearly there's information regarding this war that we don't have privvy to; perhaps if did, we'd better understand his decision. After all, this decision wasn't made in a vacuum; he's consulted with a wide range of smart people. I can only hope and pray they're more right than wrong.

I agree with you Representative Obey, but you'll be asked to fund this "surge." You can say no can't you? Just don't give a president who's misguided the funds he needs to take us over the cliff. Please say "NO!"

Obey is exactly right !!!
Why President Obama will not listen to good common sense is beyond me !!
Obama is exactly the opposite of the young man I volunteered for, if he continues following Bush's thinking this will definately be a one term administration !!
This nation cannot afford to be a nation builder when our own nation is in terrible trouble !!!
Obey for President in 2012 !!!

It's OK. When Obama wants to give his corporate masters trillions more in handouts, he'll borrow it on our credit like he did before.

"There ain't going to be no money for nothing if we pour it all into Afghanistan,"

Then stop the 10 million dollars monthly welfare checks to Iraq we've been paying for the last seven years.

Let every hawk and war profiteer who's ever been quoted in support of either war be assessed a special tax to fund the Afghan war, since the U.S. can't afford it right now.

Start with the Cheneys, Bushes, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Bill-O, all Halliburton execs and staff, all Blackwater execs and staff, etc.

In fact, any company executive or manager whose company makes a profit from the war industry should also pay a windfall tax during a war. For example, KBR and Dyncorps execs should pay an extra 5 percent in taxes.

Not that such a tax would prevent them from lobbying for war, but it would make it less profitable.

the US never could afford it, but that's beside the point
