State Dinner Prep: Former WH Staffers Dish On Dresses, China And Weather (VIDEO)
While Social Secretary Desiree Rogers hustles and bustles, counting down the last 24 hours until the Obama administration's first state dinner, there's two ladies who look calmer this time around: Ann Stock, Social Secretary for the Clinton Administration, and Anita McBride, Chief of Staff to Laura Bush. Stock oversaw 21 dinners in her time in Washington, while Anita participated in 13 or 14. The two ladies told Politico that preparations begin three months before the event and even continue under the North steps while guests arrive. They took a look at Betty Ford's state dinner dress, dished on former presidents' china collections and talked about who predicts the weather for the day of the event.
