Vicki Kennedy Oprah Interview: First Interview Since Ted's Death

NEW YORK — Another interview coup for Oprah Winfrey: Vicki Kennedy, wife of the late Sen. Edward Kennedy. In her first interview since her husband's death, Vicki Kennedy will appear on Winfrey's television talk show Wednesday, along with her stepson, Ted Kennedy Jr., and her two children from a previous marriage, Caroline and Curran.

Sen. Kennedy died in August at age 77, just weeks before the release of his memoir, "True Compass."

Winfrey, who announced last Friday she would end her program in 2011, recently had the first interview with Sarah Palin as the former Alaska governor promoted her memoir, "Going Rogue."

Yes indeed, OPRAH is awesome, Vicki Kennedy can step into the V.P or CIC position any day unlike say someone by the name of dimwit Palin. Oh, how 2010 will reveal that American's are not as dumb or out of tough as many think. Looking back on 2009, 2010 will reveal GREAT progress for AMERICA, THE WORLD, AMERICANS AND THE DEMOCRATS. OBAMA on January 20th, 2011 will stand up and as truthful say "THE STATE OF OUR UNION- IS PERFECT"! Yes, in a few short months, the GOP will proven to have written themselves off and into a corner. There will be many rivers to cross, how can you expect people to vote for or take you serious when you have nothing to OFFER but constant blocking, been trivial and BS about everything of serious consequenc­es to America. The GOP will loose always, I cannot fathom how Americans will pay them any attention or vote for them. The GOP true aim is $$$$$ and keeping Americans in constant cervitude. 2011, President OBAMA should go straight to the heart of the matter and that is POVERTY and he should drive a train through the porest area's of America, from South Carolina, Tennesee, Mississipp­i, Louisianna­, Texas, West Virginia, Virginia, Alaska, Arkansas and many other RED STATES. I am glad to hear that Mrs. Kennedy will be speaking out. I have been a Kennedy supporter since the sixties and like most Americans have cheered with them and grieved with them. After reading Senator Kennedy's book, "True Compass" I have an even deeper respect for what the Kennedy family has given to this country for so long. Mrs. Kennedy is a beautiful woman and her loss is still so deep, it is written on her face. I wish her well.

While I do agree that Victoria Kennedy is an attractive woman, I am much more impressed with her having a law degree that greatly helped her husband and her own family in times of trial. This is one smart cookie!

I will be watching Vicki Kennedy on OPRAH's show on Wednesday, unlike NOT having watched failin' Palin! How boring a show....My husband did tape it though so we could have comedy hour when we get down in the dumps or just want to have something to remember WHY WE WOULDN't VOTE FOR HER!
Vicki Kennedy is a smart woman and Yes, she is qualified to pick-up where her late husband left off with the healthcare debates.! With Vicki out there, how could Obama lose!

Agreed. Teddy's voice read it to me in my mind and his chapters after Vicki made it clear she was the love of his life. I loved the book, even though it made me sad.

Me, too. I can't believe the sacrifices that family made in service to the U.S. Any criticism I had in my mind vanished. It really helps to see people as human beings, foibled and trying. I loved the part after Bobby died and the poetic way Sen. K wrote of his time and thoughts on his boat, now alone and grieving. It was very poignant. A lot of it was without the sugary sentiment that is so common these days. He was really old school and proper in many ways, private (yet candid!) and unexpected­ly modest. I miss those days, even though I never knew them.

Oprah could resurect Michael Jackson on her show, LIVE and I wouldn't watch.

No disrespect to Vicky Kennedy but .... the parts I saw of her 'interview­' with Palin made me ill ...
how she could welcome Palin the way she did, and softball an interview with a woman whose supporters Pray for the killing of the President is beyond acceptable bounds of integrity.

Her children are not so bad either and they were more of a part of Ted K's life than the memorial indicated. I am glad they are there for their Mother and Teddy is his family's spokesman as far as that goes.
