In the spirit of giving thanks, many people spend their Thanksgiving Thursdays volunteering or serving meals to the needy, and Colorado residents are no different. We have a plethora of non-profit charities that have opportunities for people to volunteer their time with, especially this time of year.
Below are some ways to volunteer your time, or give back to your community this holiday season in the Denver-metro area. But we also want to know what you're doing to give back this Thanksgiving.
Tell us where you'll be volunteering this year. Send in a picture from this year or from years past, and let us know which events we missed.
How will you give back this Thanksgiving?

Fort Carson Dinner Preparation
The U.S. Army and Salvation Army have teamed up for the past 20 years to prepare Thanksgiving dinners in the Colorado Springs Area. About 30 soldiers and family members from Fort Carson will prepare about 4,500 dinners over the course of this week.
America pauses today, if but for a moment, in collective recognition that despite our differences and our problems, we have many reasons to be grateful. Law, thankfully, has little to do with Thanksgiving.
