9/11 Text Messages Released: Wikileaks Publishes Intercepted Government Pager Texts As They Were Sent

Government employees sent more than 500,000 text pager messages In the hours before and after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. At 3 a.m. (EST) Wednesday, November 25, those intercepted messages will be published online at Wikileaks. The messages will be published at the same times that they were originally sent on 9/11.

Wikileaks, a journalistic endeavor that promotes better government through transparency , says that the messages were intercepted by a organization that has been archiving US telecommunications prior to 9/11. Wikileaks says that the sources of the messages range from Pentagon employees to messages sent by the NYPD, and even automated messages relayed by computers to their operators.

Re. " I despise 9/11 "truther" conspiracies. Indeed, one of the guidelines for bloggers on HuffPost is a ban on posts putting forth those kinds of theories. And it was stupid of Van to put his name on a very stupid "9/11 Truth Statement." I've spoken to Van. He doesn't believe that the Bush administration orchestrated the 9/11 attacks or allowed the attacks to happen in a cold-hearted attempt to gin up support. The 9/11 "Truthers" are fringe-dwellers and Van was completely wrong to allow himself to be associated with them."

And what about Van Jones? What's he think now? He was basically fired over this, (even though it had nothing to do with stimulating the economy with Green Jobs) and no one would back him up, except to make up excuses and apologies which were not due, and not true. It's not that they consider themselves smarter so much (although they do i'm sure) it's that they are just so powerful, and the operation that day was so successfull, and they have intimidated anyone with any firsthand knowledge of the event who isn't on their side so well, that they don't feel the need to even really cover up the crime any more.
They did all the "heavy lifting" of covering for themselves in the first six months after 9/11/01. They (chenney, to put a name on one who's really in-the-know) waited to see the level of outrage from the public, when none came, they knew they were home free.
Unlike the Kennedy assassination for example, no matter how much information came out to make the "official" story seem silly, the american people didn't seem to care - didn't seem to want to know about it. We get to the point where Dana Parino feels free this week to make the statement on T.V. that no terrorist attacks occured in the U.S. on Bush's watch when I can think of at least three right off the top of my head.

Allow me to re-state a point I tried to make earlier in this thread:
Any details of an event you do not witness yourself must come form somebody else or some other source. Of course phtographic evidence is the next best thing to rely on. Almost all (but not 100%) agree the video of planes hitting the towers on 9/11/01 is real. Fine.
When it comes to any information about the passengers (including the hijackers) on the three planes that hit buildings that day the information gets much murkier.
Either you, as an individual trust the people (information source) telling you just who was on those planes, or you don't so much. The idea that information that we as "average" citizens got that day (and continue to get), from the news media and their government "sources" and spokespeople was honest and reliable is completely up to the faith of each person.
An event occured. The news media told us details of those events based on those "in the know." Whether any individual wants to trust that information, those "sources," is completely up to each individual. Just because a certain source holds an established position of authority doesn't automatically make them honest.
There is no absolute "Tuth."

And I also asked someone else about conversations that some of the passengers on all the planes had over cell phones with their relatives. You said your cell phone doesn't work on a plane. the plane that crashed into the ground ---was way off course and crashed in the middle of nowhere ---the pilots lost control and down it went ----

is it possible the "pentagon plane " was similarly way off course and perhaps its intended target was not the pentagon ----is it possible the off- course direction took it way out over the ocean and an on board fight resulted in loss of control and plunge into the ocean without a trace because no one looked for debris.

is it a possibility???

Damage Control (aka 'cessnadriver') seems to have an unhealthy interest in defending the official story. I mean, it's one thing to disagree with some of the claims being made, but it really makes no sense to go to such lengths cessna.

I'd say it takes a lot of time, determination, and vested interest to post 47+ comments on this article alone (as of 7:15 CST). I could never spend so much time and energy defending a weak govt claim. Seems that one would actually have to get PAID to do something so ridiculous.

Most of us 'truthers' stared out believing and accepting the official 9/11 story put out by the government and the MSM... but eventually, the mounting "coincidences" and evidence contradicting the official story made it impossible for people with open minds to continue believing a lie.

Well said and spot on. I never considered myself a conspiracy theorist - and still don't. Notice that the MSM and gov't has made darn sure that anyone who questions the gov't's conclusions about 9-1-1 is labeled a cr@zy conspiracy theorist, so that no discussion can continue. Meanwhile, there are a lot of us out there who are just super curious, and want actual answers, not the b.s. that we're being handed.

The gov't version of 9-1-1 asks us to believe that Mohammad Atta's passp0rt was found in the debris from the tower! OH how convenient. They want us to shut up about the fact that records destr0yed in Tower 7 were crucial, and that 2.7 miIIion went missing just before 9-1-1 - aII Rummy/Cheney's doing.

No debr!s from Flight 93. Really?

Towers coIIapsing because the upper floors are on fire? REally?

Then there are photos of sheared beams, the fact they hauIed the remains off to China so there would be no scrutiny, and that's just the tip of the iceberg.

First of all, MSNBC does not EVER and I mean EVER talk about any conspiracy theories surrounding 9-1-1. At least that I've seen. Second, I don't get my news from television. I get it online, unless it's CSpan, I don't really trust it. Third, why do you assume I got my news from MSNBC? Pretty big (and wrong) assumption.

He brings along a Russian wife who apparently had no difficulty getting permission from the Kremlin to leave the country.

He winds up with a job in a building that provides him with a great sniper's perch when the President's motorcade passes by a few months later.

A couple of days after that the police parade him for the press, giving some other lowlife a perfect opportunity to step right up to him and silence him.
