In a post on Wednesday, conservative and liberal bloggers alike criticized a proposed resolution that would would deny funding and endorsements to Republican candidates who failed to adhere to many core principles. Why even Ronald Reagan wouldn't pass, some pundits remarked.

In response, the chief sponsor of the proposal, James Bopp Jr., defended the use of a 10-point list on key positions like fiscal conservatism, gun rights and abortion.
