Avatar VIDEO: Behind The Scenes Movie Footage

First Posted: 3/18/10 Updated: 5/25/11

MSNBC has new behind-the-scenes footage of James Cameron on the set of his upcoming movie, Avatar. Avatar will be the first major blockbuster movie in 3-D, and was, in Cameron tradition, fantastically expensive to make. The final bill will add up to around two hundred and thirty million. Avatar will be released on December 18th -- in the meantime watch the sneak peak video below and check out the New Yorker's excellent profile of Cameron and Avatar ("Man Of Extremes")

Scene it twice already and I'm still astounded. Epic and meaningfully story, totally believable 3D world only the way Cameron could do it. Very touching.

Einstein, don't you mean, "I have seen it twice already... "? Hey, with an avatar like yours, somebody had to tell you.

This is a movie I want to go see.

Just saw it. Like watching someone play a video game for nearly three hours. The story is painfully predictable every step of the way, and the characters are nothing but collections of the cheeziest cliches: the evil military commander, the wise leader of the natives and so on. Cameron made a fantastic looking film but never bothered to write an intelligent script. Truly a waste.

People willing to shower this movie in awards should wait until you've see it. However, the same could be said to those who already hate it.

It will be a blockbuster like most of his works are. They generate their own buzz.

I heard about this project long ago. From the trailer, it should shake the academy award tree down to it's last oscar. Remember to mark these words.

You must not go to many movies. The trailer looked like same old, same old.

I'm sure Avatar will be every bit as good as Titanic. And we all know how good that was.
