I started yoga to overcome injuries from a car accident as I had heard that it is great for stretching, strengthening and relaxation. Soon my yoga teacher and my practice began to teach me that yoga is the art of breathing and finding one's true self through meditation. When practicing asanas (poses), the mind eases from the dramas of daily living and allows deeper meaning to enter the mind. It is not unusual to see someone release emotion during yoga class as people give up internal pain. This relaxed state of mind carries over and allows one to be more at peace in every phase of life.
