If this was true I bet big pharma and big insurance would pay off someone to deep-six it, afraid it might hurt future profits.

Yet another way that desert plants and animals can benefit us if we don't slaughter them all to build Big Solar, Big Wind, and Big Transmission. Leave our deserts intact, study them so we can all learn how to live in hot, arid climates, and focus on non-lethal, non-wasteful, democratically owned rooftop solar and point of use energy solutions.
