South Africa Meteor (VIDEO)

First Posted: 03/18/10 06:12 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 03:50 PM ET

This amazing video, taken from CCTV footage, shows a meteor lighting up the sky over South Africa the weekend before last.

One resident described the sight to Eyewitness News in South Africa as "like an orange stripe in the sky, followed by a very bright explosion where the sky lit up as if it was daytime."

As of last week, scientists were still looking for where the meteor may have landed, according to the Telegraph.

It was some alien tourists on a UFO snapping their version of a Polaroid of earth. Or terrain mapping for the invasion.

This is probably what happened in Japan over Tatsunokuchi Beach on Sept 10, 1271. Nichiren was right in rhythm.

If anyone is a craft entrepreneur, get your 2012 ideas moving, you will make a fortune. Then we can look back and laugh like we do about cabbage patch dolls, mood rings, and pet rocks.

Really! Have you had your tin foil hat refitted recently?

It's more likely a meteor like the one that exploded above the Tunguska River in 1908, only much smaller. Look it up and get educated.

There aren't any witnesses from 1908 alive today.
