Tiger Woods met his wife, Elin Nordegren Woods, through Swedish golfer Jesper Parnevik. Today, in light of revelations that Tiger Woods may have had affairs with multiple women, Parnevik blasted the world's top golfer. The AP has more:

In the most critical comment from a player, Jesper Parnevik said he owed Nordegren an apology for introducing her to Woods. She once worked as a nanny for the Parnevik family.

"We probably thought he was a better guy than he is," Parnevik told The Golf Channel from West Palm Beach, Fla., where he is in the final stage of PGA Tour qualifying.

Police said Woods' wife told them she smashed out the back window of his Cadillac Escalade SUV with a golf club to help get him out after he struck a fire hydrant and tree.

"I would probably need to apologize to her and hope she uses a driver next time instead of a 3-iron," Parnevik said, adding that he has not spoken to Woods since the accident.

"It's a private thing, of course," the Swede said. "But when you are the guy he is - the world's best athlete - you should think more before you do stuff ... and maybe not 'Just do it,' like Nike says."

Why exactly does Jasper have to apologize to Tiger's wife? Everyone is getting what they signed up for. I don't understand what everyone is surprised by. If you're married to an athlete, the odds of him cheating are pretty high, so I doubt she didn't know. In turn, he set Tiger up with a life-time dependent who's known skill set is knowing how to take a picture and wipe children's behinds. She's a dime piece who is now rich and he's an athlete who paid for a trophy wife. Know your role. And what is up with the putans who have no sense of shame about them after sleeping with a married man. They need to know their roles and shut their repulsive traps.

$18M in career earnings for a guy who can't even keep his tour card? Jesper should thank god for Tiger Woods every night before he goes to sleep.

He's just envious of Tigers' humongous pen is.

It is odd how many are dumping on a guy who is saying what a lot of us are thinking.

Me neither. It's as likely a defensive measure for similar indiscretions as anything genuine.

Not to mention that Jasper (Ed Norton) Parnevik owes his entire financial life to Tiger Woods. Jasper is a marginal player and is still a multi-millionaire because even the mediocre players make a fortune because of Tiger's popularity.

The PGA tour has been riding Wood's coattails for the last decade. That is a statistical fact.

These folks would be well-advised to think twice before expressing their outrage at Tiger's breakdown.

How does one say they regret introducing a now married couple with two children?

Is that the same as wishing the kids were never born?

Pornflik sez, "I would probably need to apologize to her..."

What he was thinking was, "I should call her and she if she wants to go out and, um, 'talk' about it."

I had no idea Parnevik was such a moralizing so-and-so.
12:57 PM on 12/05/2009
I didn't know either. I think he should have just kept his mouth shut and told them "no comment". I have to admit I think Tiger is great and I love to watch him play golf. We all have our moral downfalls, but unlike celebrities they aren't talked about and talked about constantly in the media. I can't believe this man was friends with Tiger and then comes out in public and says something as stupid as he did. It is not for Parnevik to say. John Daly said that he is glad Tiger is not hurt and that world of golf needs him because he has done so much for it. He said the other is no one's business. I have not heard any of the other golfers making such a crappy comment. I will still watch Tiger play and hope that his personal problems with his wife work out for the best. One day Parnevik may have to eat his words.

I don't think Parvenik is a being a moral pompous ass. Also, not to justify Parvenik's ill humored remarks, but I guess he felt burned and betrayed because he was the one that introduced Elin to Tiger.

She worked as a nanny?? Dog she should be thanking you everyday for hooking her up with Tiger. If she knows what I know she stays right there along side... At least until the ten years is up. Play your cards right honey.

What is Parnevik about when he says: “I would probably need to apologize to her...”. She was his former nanny or 'au pair', but now married to one of the most famous and richest guy in sport. Does Parnevik think that she is too good for Tiger woods?

Further, Parnevik career earnings (est. $18million) is no way near what his former nanny is now worth, by virtue of being married to Tiger Wood – she has, obviously, struck gold, alright; and Parnevik feel the [need] to apologize to her? Must Parnevik say anything even when he lacks something to say?

Parvenik felt burned and betrayed. If someone betrayed you, would be so kind? I think not.

He's not her daddy, so he doesn't have to act like the concerned patriarch. And if he were her friend, he wouldn't say anything except to her.
