LeBron James' Full Court Shot (VIDEO)

First Posted: 03/18/10 06:12 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 03:50 PM ET

The Cleveland Cavaliers finished their Monday practice with some touch football, making for what would be an uneventful video clip were it not for the footage of LeBron James sinking a full-court football shot. 15 seconds into the below video, LeBron heaves the ball across the court for a perfect, nothing-but-net basket. It is reminiscent of an old Powerade ad, which shows James nailing shot after full-court shot. Check out both clips below.

Makes you wonder what kind of DT Shaq could have been, but why would he want to be chop-blocked?

Was that commercial for real or was that special FX. If he was actually hitting those... damn... that's just unreal.

As far as the football throw goes, all you have to do is watch the reaction of the 2 men standing at the end of the court. It was an obvious miss.

Well, I guess with the blurriness of the video, they are either men or in desperate need of implants. I'm not very blessed as most, but even I have more than that.

I guess for your next trick, you are going to explain why nobody cheered the shot? Not even the "women" fans adoring his every move?

You'd have thought that someone would have done a fist pump, or clapped, or even cheered a shot like that.

Trust me, Fox 8 news in Cleveland does not have the ability to fake a video like this. They can barely get a weather segment together

People do realize that this is a take on the old Michael Vick commercial in which Vick apparently throws the ball more than 100 yards and into the stands, right?

In other words, some fakery and video manipulation is going on, just like in the infamous Vick commercial. ;o)

I don't think anyone can shot a half court jumper much less make one from further out. Its a fake.

Another Bo Jackson, perhaps?

This would be cool if it were real. Not entirely sure that it is.

It's a lot easier to throw a football accurately than it is to throw a basketball.

Did you ever see that Sports Science episode where Drew Brees took on an Olympic archery champion? Brees was far, far more accurate than the archer.

A basketball court is only 30 yards long. Think about how many 30 yard passes you've seen that hit a guy right in the numbers while he's moving at full speed. That's a standard play for an NFL quarterback.

This just isn't unbelievable at all. That's a really tough basketball shot. It's not that hard a football throw.

Very warm Packers fans in the house.

Everything you said is about right-on. Throwing it through that hoop top-down does look sort of special, though, even though quarterbacks do roughly the same thing every day.

thanks for the link. very readable entries in your blog, especially the one about the abomination passing for a textbook your poor sister is stuck with. hope you're helping her with that

He would have been a terror TE!

I'd put him at WR or QB. Imagine being a safety and seeing him coming.

FSU Seminole Deion Sanders would have put him flat on his back in a collision that brought James to an immediate halt, just like he used to do to the Miami Hurricanes back in the day.

He is entirely too cool.

what kind of quarterback might he have made with that kind of accuracy?

Cool Fx on those jumpshots...The football throw looks legit. If so, can you imagine a 6'8" Qb with LB's foot speed and throwing accuracy--scary thought.
