Fox News handily won the cable news ratings race Tuesday night for President Obama's speech at West Point about sending more troops to Afghanistan.
Fox News beat CNN and MSNBC combined for the event in both total viewers and the A25-54 demographic — in both primetime and during the President's speech, which aired from 8:02 PM to 8:36 PM.
For the speech, Fox News averaged 4.554 million total viewers and 1.252 million A25-54 viewers. CNN came in second with 2.349 million total viewers and 669,000 A25-54 viewers, while MSNBC placed third with 1.560 million total viewers and 434,000 A25-54 viewers.
In primetime for the evening, Fox News averaged 3.791 million total viewers to CNN's 1.744 million and MSNBC's 1.281 million. In the prime demo, Fox News averaged 1.113 million total viewers to CNN's 485,000 and MSNBC's 371,000.
