China has Tashi Dundrop, we have Charlie Daniels.

I didn't realize they arrested Mr. Daniels for subversion. His simplistic patriotism seems to be more of a fit for Chinese chauvinism that relegates Tibetans to a colonial state.

The North liberated the South from slavery. Many southerners resented it. China liberated Tibet from slavery. Many tibetans resent it.

But yeah, the Charlie Daniels and Hank Williams Jr people are still causing problems in the US.

Chinese policy on Tibet should start with the acknowledgement of the distinct language and culture of Tibet. A Tibetan singer cannot be a Chinese subversive because they're singing about Tibetan issues in Tibet.

Ultimately, Tibet will never really be a part of China on account of linguistic differences. It's silly to claim Tibet as a part of China. Tibet is a subject of modern Chinese imperialism just as India was a subject of English imperialism. Tibet is a colony of China but a separate culture. Ultimately, this situation will solve its self.
