UPDATE: ABC News denies the Radar report that Chris Cuomo has resigned from the network.
"I just got off the phone with Chris who told me, 'nothing could be further from the truth,'" ABC News spokesperson Jeffrey Schneider told TVNewser.
TVNewser further reports that Cuomo will appear on "Good Morning America" Monday, and cites insiders in reporting that "despite testing other talent for his GMA job of newsreader last week, if Cuomo wants to stay on GMA, it's up to him. But if he wants out of the morning show, he could very well be promoted to the open co-anchor slot on '20/20.'"
Original Post: Chris Cuomo has resigned from ABC News over e-mail, RadarOnline.com reports.
Cuomo, the newsreader on "Good Morning America," was in contention for that show's co-hosting job that was recently offered to George Stephanopoulos.
The Washington Post's Howard Kurtz, in his report that ABC had offered the job to Stephanopoulos, added that Cuomo was would "probably leave the show" and was "being courted by other networks."
Radar says that Cuomo "may be headed to NBC's 'Dateline.'" Fox News Executive Vice President Bill Shine recently told the Huffington Post that his boss Roger Ailes "thinks Cuomo is smart, extremely talented and considers him a friend."
