'Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows' Teaser Trailer Released (VIDEO)

First Posted: 3/18/10 Updated: 5/25/11

Warner Brothers released the first teaser trailer for Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows, the final chapter (and penultimate film) in the series. It starts off with an exclusive (read: boring) look inside Harry Potter 7 and segues into the good stuff about 0:55 in. For those of us who live for these moments, the teaser doesn't give you quite enough to get your blood rushing, but enough to satiate your Harry Potter withdrawals for now.

To whomever got paid to write this: "penultimate" does not mean super-duper-ultimate. It means "next to last." So Half-Blood Prince, the sixth film in the series of seven, is the penultimate film of the series.

My humble apologies! I just found out that book 7 is being split into two movies, so there will be an 8th film. (So Deathly Hallows WILL be the penultimate movie.)

Please disregard my earlier snark.

I am shocked that parents allow young girls to read these books....obsessive relationships with a mentally unhealthy person...

Bizarrely, a lot of readers of Twilight are actually women over 30.

I'm more shocked at the number of middle-aged housewives who apparently fantasize about having an obsessive relationship with a whiny emo stalker who looks like a teenage boy.

The real problem with the last movie was the simp playing Malfoy. I guess it's the danger you run into when you stick with the same cast you hired a decade ago. It's amazing so many of them are competent actors at all.

If we're being completely honest, Malfoy as a character never really fleshes out until HBP, so you gotta expect that 7 year old you cast back in 2000 to hang around looking menacing for 5 movies, and then suddenly be able to wrestle with the torments of emerging Death Eater-dom.

So I guess it's not really fair to expect that kid to handle it. But it sure as hell made the movie unwatchable.

The 6th one was honestly one of the lamest, most boring films I've ever seen. I hope they can bring it up a notch. I don't usually differ too much with RT, but in this case, I thought the critics were dead wrong.

The third one, I think, the Prisoner of Azkaban, was really good--well directed, engaging, not totally silly.

This last one though... *ugh*! What a nightmare to sit through. Got restless legs in the theater I wanted to leave so badly.

do you want fries with that?

Prisoner of Azkaban was the best book in the series as well as the best film, still utter heresy to criticize the last film!!!! Avada Kadavra!

i thought the best was Goblet of Fire... movie and book!
01:14 AM on 12/07/2009
Yeah, I'm a Harry Potter fan and usually see the movies multiple times at the cinema -- HBP I could barely watch the entire film once! Yates has been a disaster, and Kloves obviously thinks he can write Harry Potter better than JKR!

I can't wait. If they must make drastic cuts, please cut the Ron being annoying because of the horcrux section.

If the video has been disabled shouldn't they pull this non-story? Ah, it's the weekend - they don't care (except M-F 8to6)

Which upcoming movie will contain the long awaited scene where Hermoine accidentally casts the spell upon herself of "Garmentus Totalus Invisibleus"?
01:53 PM on 12/07/2009
Or the old standby spell, "Fellatio!"

Nah. That was pretty much settled a long time ago. Star Trek is for nerds, and Star Wars is for dweebs.

Harry Potter was fun to read, but not nearly in the same universe as anything written by Tolkien.

Every time I've tried to read Tolkien I fell asleep. So I stopped trying.

The only movies of books I've seen that were as good or better than the books are The Lord of the Rings, the Harry Potter series and The Shining - Stephen King.
What I liked most about the "lord" series was I got to see what the characters could look like...same with Potter and The Shining was too scary for words. heeheeheee!
Looking forward to this flick.
Most adaptations are stinkers, however, IMO

Agreed, most book are far better than any movie could be. There are some exceptions and I'll throw out The Godfather and Lawrence of Arabia as two.

My example of a movie as good as the book is To Kill a Mockingbird.

"The Shining": The theatrical film or the"made for TV"?

I'm a Nicholson fan, but he was WRONG for the part

The TV production was far more faithful to the novel
