"Daily Show" correspondent John Oliver made an appearance at The Economist's "The World in 2010" conference and brought the house down. He took on everything from the White House party crashers to America's idiocy, comparing the U.S. to a vomiting girl who will likely fall:
"Empires die... One second you're running the entire planet, you glance away for what feels like nothing more than a decade, look back to where you were before, it's all disappeared and the only thing you're left with is voicing a fucking gecko."
After the show, Oliver got in a few jabs at the party crashers, but did acknowledge that that the royal family has also had its fair share of embarrassments. He cited an incident when a man snuck into the Queen's bedroom, but joked that "anyone trying to get close to the queen has my full support."
