Queen Elizabeth had a big grin on her face Monday night in London as she met Lady Gaga, who wore red leather and curtsied, following the Royal Variety Performance in Blackpool, England.

Lady Gaga, your voice sounds to me like Madonna. And indeed you are her spawn. (Give a thank you, please.) Got no problem with that. You lost me, however, in this age of backlash to women's rights ( though you're profiting from women's rights, Madonna, etc.) when you wore "blood" and ripped clothing as if women getting beat up and raped is sexy. My post might be more powerful if I just stopped there, but I really want to know as a woman, why you don't realize you are NOT doing what Madonna did?! Let us free... it's all you and f*ck the rest of us. Thanks a freakin lot.

I confess that I initially scoffed at Lady Gaga after seeing brief "highlight­s" of her performanc­es. I thought I had her pegged as just another flash of 15-minute stardom.

Her fame may or may not last, who knows. But after seeing her interview on Ellen my perception has changed. For starters she's actually talented (all offense intended to the lip syncers), but more importantl­y she seems genuine. When she says the crazy outfits are more for fun and for making the "freaks feel welcome" than grabbing attention -- I actually believe it (for the most part).
