Robert Meachem Touchdown VIDEO: Saints Score Two-Turnover TD

First Posted: 03/18/10 06:12 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 03:50 PM ET

The Saints' 33-30 OT win against the Redskins was a thrilling game filled with many exciting plays, but none matched improbable touchdown Robert Meachem scored late in the first half.

With 43 seconds left before halftime, the Saints trailed by seven points and had the ball at the Washington 44-yard-line. Saints QB Drew Brees dropped back to pass, stiff-armed an oncoming defender and launched a pass downfield just as he was hit by another pass-rusher. Redskins safety Kareem Moore swooped in for an excellent diving interception and, untouched by any Saint, he got up to gain additional yardage on the return. Near midfield, however, Saints receiver Robert Meachem literally stole the ball from Moore and took it the other way, 44 yards for a touchdown.

The incredible play tied the game before the half, and Meachem would step up again as the second half ended. He caught a 53-yard bomb with 1:19 left in regulation to send the game to overtime, where the Saints won with a field goal.

snyder is only interested in profits. The Redskins are doomed for the forseeable future, no matter who the coaches are. As a former Washingtonian, I wish them the worst...

Nail biter all the way through! This was one of the most exciting games of the year. A real thriller! Fans of both teams should be proud of the way they played. Those who paid to attend sure got their money's worth.

In the Baltimore-Washington area we have the best of the worst. Peter Angelos, undoubtedly the worst owner in professional baseball. Dan Snyder, probably the worst owner in all of professional sports. Synder and the Redskins win.

As a longtime, long-suffering Baltimore Oriole fan, I endorse -- if that is the correct word -- your assessment of Mr. Angelos. I wish he would sell the team to someone interested in winning.

I thought we (The Dallas Cowboys) had the worst kicker in the league until I watched this game. The Skins' kicker choked big time when he could have sealed the game.

The Skins have gone downhill ever since Snyder bought the team. Jack Kent Cooke was interested in winning. Snyder is only interested in profits. The Redskins are doomed for the forseeable future, no matter who the coaches are. As a former Washingtonian, I wish them the worst.

I used to be a Skins fan in my youth, but now I'm a Panthers fan....
It saddens me to see the Skins in such sad shape...I still find myself rooting for them sometimes...
