Chris Cuomo To Co-Anchor "20/20" (VIDEO)

Chris Cuomo announced Thursday that, like Diane Sawyer, Friday would be his last day on ABC's "Good Morning America."

"I am leaving my position as news anchor tomorrow," Cuomo told viewers. "I am blessed to be at 'GMA,' I thank all of you. Now I have been asked to anchor '20/20' with my friend, the great Elizabeth Vargas, and also to cover breaking news and get answers for all the shows on the network. It is a dream job for a journalist like me, but it was also a very difficult decision, because I am leaving a special place and crew and all of you and you are all part of my family. The good news is you never really leave family," he said, promising "GMA" viewers that they'll see his "mug" on the show in the future.

Cuomo will be replaced by JuJu Chang.

The network is expected to announce Thursday afternoon that George Stephanopoulos will join the program as anchor on Monday.

Chris Cuomo seemed to have an opinion on everything, but rarely demonstrated any actual knowledge. If his work was in print form, he'd be laughed out of any respectable newspaper. This is the reason I stopped watching GMA over a year ago.

I will start watching 20/20 again. I gave up watching it when Stossel took up residence.

As for GMA, without Diane and Chris I am done with that show. George isn't a personality and I don't think he is a Matt Lauer either.

I won't watch GMA without Cuomo. I think this was a dumb move.

O'h please he was why we didn't watch. He always had one eye on the camera , the other on a mirror . I can't remember what his center eye was doing. He was vacuous with a capital VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV.

I think Chris was great. Loved his NY swagger. I don't think 20/20 is the right venue for him at all. Send George to 20/20.

Hot guy, but I wish both the shows would do real hard news like BBC or PBS news. I'll continue to watch him on mute. Good to look at.

i rarely watch morning tv but when i do enjoy watching diane sawyer and chris cuomo. they feel very authentic and they're intelligent and funny. bummer they're leaving but off to greener pastures.

He and George S need to have a show and call it "Boring and Boring"

A show about two journalists who peak at a level 1 out of 10 excitement based on the stories they are covering.

Oh wait, they already have a tv show and yes their level of excitement is about a 1 on a 10 scale.
