Quentin Abeyta, Colorado Man, Placed His Dead Father In A Trash Can

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — An affidavit says a Colorado man whose father's body was found in a trash can told police he put his father's body there after finding him dead in their home.

Thirty-two-year-old Quinten Abeyta of Colorado Springs has not been accused in the death of 55-year-old Russell Abeyta, but he was jailed on a $1,000 bond on an alleged parole violation. An arrest affidavit says Quinten Abeyta previously was in prison for second-degree assault and burglary.

The affidavit says Quinten Abeyta told officers he came home Monday to find his father with his face smashed in. He said someone else killed him.

The younger Abeyta also said he is on medication for a mental disorder.
