'Youth In Revolt' Red Band Trailer (NSFW): Michael Cera As A Mustachioed Ladykiller

Youth In Revolt Trailer

Just when you thought Michael Cera could only play one character, he does something new. Well, he starts off 'Youth in Revolt' as a familiar earnest-awkward nerd. When his attempts to win his dream girl's heart prove terribly misguided, he creates an alternate persona named Francois Dillinger, a mustachioed, cigarette-smoking lothario who wants to "tickle your belly button from the inside." More dirty ladybait follows.

If there is more where this came from, the movie may be funny. Below you can watch the red band trailer, which contains much more colorful language than the official trailer released a few months ago.

Portia Doubleday, Jean Smart, Zach Galifianakis, Steve Buscemi and Ray Liotta costar. 'Youth in Revolt' opens January 8.

I loved on Michael Cera's onscreen self-effacing geek persona on Arrested Development. I grew tired of it after that, no matter how 'adorable' the character was. The above clip has me rethinking my position. I think it's brilliant that he's willing to take aim at the characters he typically plays and wants to step outside that role. I can't wait for this movie to be released and hope this is the beginning of more to come.

Fight Club meets Revenge of the Nerds.

Huh... nice try. I mean, the Fight Club part is right. But this doesn't have the feel of Nerds at all.

you all should check out the book before seeing the movie--the book is quite literally the funniest thing i've ever read in my life. here's hoping that the movie lives up to it.

Michael Cera as Nick Twisp--casting genius! I love the books, so it will be interesting to see how and in what ways they have to be toned down.

I will second checking out the book. In fact, check out the whole series: Youth In Revolt, Revolting Youth, and Young and Revolting, all by C.D. Payne.

This might be the movie that replaces Rushmore as my all time favorite. Now, if you and your adorable sweater would step away from the door, I'd like to have Francoise Dillinger's babies now.

I like this kid. He is walking evidence that a nerd can be hot.

Unless of course it has the tired old... But then he learned all he really has to be is himself... crap.
