If you are planning to spend hours making a craft project for me that will probably end up in a drawer somewhere (handmade soaps, refrigerator magnets, or ......shudder.... coasters), instead spend 10 minutes making a card telling me that you will spend those hours helping out in your community. Make a difference in someone's life.

Here's another idea: take a loofah sponge and cut it into slices. Put a slice into a soap mold and then pour liquid soap over it. When it hardens, you have an unusual and useful gift.
