NBC: "Today" Afghanistan Trip Wasn't Meant As Diane Sawyer Distraction

So was the war zone trip an attempt by NBC to blunt the ratings for Ms. Sawyer's final week, or at least divert attention from her? No, it was coincidental -- but NBC couldn't explain why until after the hosts were already in Afghanistan.

Oh come on. Everyone knows that Diane spends hours gazing at Matt Lauer from afar. They were hoping she wouldn't leave her dressing room.

Wow, when did the world start to revolve around Diane Sawyer? Can't a news show be on the scene to cover a recently escalated war effort without people asking "is this about Diane?"
