Contemporary Artists Tackle Climate Change (PHOTOS)

ReThink the Implicit is a new, installation-based exhibit at the Den Frie Centre of Contemporary Art in Copenhagen. In honor of the United Nations Climate Summit, six artists have prepared installations that they hope will cause the audience to question their perceptions of and relationship with the natural world. The Den Frie Center explains that the title refers to "how global crises such as climate change cause a shift in the way we perceive our surroundings as individuals....when the shortage of resources becomes explicit, we become more aware of fundamental natural phenomena such as air, water, land, and light." Check out these beautiful installations and see if they cause you to rethink your assumptions. All photos and information courtesy of the Den Frie Centre of Contemporary Art.

Acid Rain, the haunting installation by Bright Ugochukwu Eke, touches on two of the artist's recurring themes: water as a source of universal life and humanity's lack of respect for the environment. The installation consists of thousands of drop-shaped bags filled with water and carbon and suspended from the ceiling. Bright hopes to call attention to the human-impact on climate and the harmful changes in weather that have already come about as a result.
