Safeway Workers Reject Store's Offer; King Soopers Workers Accept

Unionized Colorado workers accepted a last, best and final contract offer from King Soopers but rejected a similar offer from Safeway in mail balloting that ended Monday, United Food and Commercial Workers International Union Local 7 said Tuesday.

Local 7 has offered to resume talks with Safeway in hopes of reaching an agreement, said Laura Chapin, a union spokeswoman in Wheat Ridge.
