On December 16, 2009, thousands of Copenhageners and visitors came out to celebrate Earth Hour Hopenhagen. The special event included a lantern parade and the presentation of The People's Orb to the UN Cabinet Chief, Vijay Nambiar. At 7 PM, Copenhagen switched off all of its lights and over 1,000 children carried lanterns through the streets, representing the world's hopes for a positive outcome from the Climate Summit. These beautiful photos showcase the event.

Danish children have their faces painted as WWF Pandas during a special lantern parade in Copenhagen as part of Earth Hour Hopenhagen. The lights of the host city were turned out as approximately 1000 children took part in a special lantern parade to help deliver the world’s hopes and dreams for an agreement from the world leaders at the Climate Change Summit.
