Shane Sparks, MTV Judge, Charged With 8 Counts Of Child Molestation, Oral Sex

The alleged incidents began occurring in 1994. According to the criminal complaint Shane allegedly committed the crimes of lewd acts upon a child -- all felonies.

The criminal complaint -- filed by the L.A. County District Attorney's office -- lists 9 incidents of alleged molestation with an underage girl.

All I see is a charge of arousing someone 10 yrs younger. In America that could mean she was 16. Child Molestation means pre-pubescent. If the girl is post pubescent then it is a completely different crime. And in my mind if it was consensual, then it barely counts as a crime.

I sure would like to know if it is extortion. When this allegedly took place in '94, he was not on a national TV show "So you think you can dance", so I find the charges a bit suspicious now that he is more visible and a popular TV choreographer.

Although they are criminal charges, there is still money involved, plus now his name is associated with this and his earnings will be affected by the charges alone. He still has to pay an attorney, go to trail if the courts deem fit, and then possible play restitution to the victim if found guilty after a mediation or trail.

I don't know if he did it or not, but this does happen. Even if a criminal case is lost, they an move on to civil court. The standard of proof is lower and a case that loses in criminal court can win a huge amount of money in civil court. Case in point-OJ.

Oh boy, this is so not surprising but really disappointing.

My daughter has always been uncomfortable in classes with this guy, he has always liked them young. He recently broke up with his girlfriend of three years, she's one of the stars of ABC Family's "The Secret Life of the American Teenager" - that should tell you something.

SYTYCD now has 2 choreographers of shame.

He was actually born in 1969 so he was 25 yrs. old and the victim was at least 10 years younger but it could be more. I am reading she was younger than 14. Now, I am not going to jump on the bandwagon and ASSume this man is guilty. I want to see how things play out. People do lie and I knew a woman who lied about a rape and the young man was arrested and of course everyone believed her bullcrap but I didn't since he was with me that night and no where near her. She only confessed to lying when the police wanted to give her a lie detector test. She made the whole thing up because he caught her stealing and was going to rat her out. This is why I am not always so quick to crucify others.

If you look through the charging documents, it appears that this started when she was 12 or 13 and he was around 24, it's one victim throughout the charging document.

He was an adult, she was a child - he should have known better.
