Lil Wayne

LAREDO, Texas — A Lil Wayne concert in Texas, postponed after authorities said they found marijuana on one of his tour buses, is back on.

The Laredo Entertainment Center's Web site says the show, originally scheduled Friday, will take place Saturday night.

The rapper canceled Friday after two of his buses were stopped in Falfurrias, about 80 miles southwest of Corpus Christi.

Border Patrol Supervisory Agent Joe G. Trevino said Saturday Lil Wayne and 11 people with him were briefly detained, and the case was referred to the Brooks County Sheriff's Office.

A sheriff's dispatcher said the sheriff was unavailable for comment.

Lil Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Carter, will be tried in March on felony drug possession and weapons charges in Yuma County, Ariz.

I would be more shocked if the headline said "Lil' Wayne caught eating green vegetables".

Lil Wayne went to Harvard college I heard, and is more smarter than what people believes he is. He just didnt use his brains when traveling through Texas. Knowing that black rappers are targeted in Texas just for being there. I am pretty sure that there are a lot of musicians that have more than pot on their tour bus. But they just dont get stopped. The cops know that Lil Wayne smokes pot often so they laid and waited for him.

Can we just save ourselves a bit of time and throw every rapper, reggae artist, RnB artist and sports star in jail for drug charges now?

Willie Nelson brags about smoking pot. I bet those sheriffs in Texas would gladly smoke some of Willie's weed.

If they legalized weed the prison industrial complex wouldn't be able to fill the prisoner quotas.

He doesn't hold himself out to be a role model for the children. If this were the JoBros, then your comment would carry some weight.

I saw the headline and said to myself, "this had to have happened in Texas". Sure enough... Texas - enough said.

My sentiments exactly.

Not a fan of rap music at all but there is still no reason for this kind of craziness to still be going on. It's nothing short of draconian.

Pot? Really? 1) how can you be shocked 2) they still have states it's not legal? 3) how prudish is America that this is a news item and not an article for "high times"
