My biggest disappointment with the Kindle is that you aren't allowed to do web surfing besides the very small list of pages they permit.

The definition of stealing is taking something away from somebody so they don't have it any more.
And not even the extended rationale of "depriving an organization of revenue" applies in these cases because it has been shown again and again that people who download media are also the biggest consumers of paid-for media. The amount of money for incidentals like media consumption determines the size of the market, and you don't increase that with DRM. The student who downloads music (or e-books in this case) simply doesn't have the money to buy everything (s)he wants. They are the people who used to record from radio to tape in pre-digital times. I did that too. OMG, I was a PIRATE!!!

...if they don't have the $$ to purchase ebooks or the print versions, they could go to a public library and check the book out...seems like the reasonable thing to do...
