Susan Sarandon & Tim Robbins BREAK UP

LOS ANGELES — One of Hollywood's most enduring couples has separated.

Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins, partners for 23 years and parents of two sons, split up over the summer, publicist Teal Cannady said in a statement Wednesday. She did not elaborate.

Sarandon, 63, and Robbins, 51, met while shooting the 1988 film "Bull Durham." He played a hotshot pitcher, she was the passionate fan who simultaneously seduced him and prepared him for the big leagues.

Sarandon and Robbins never married. Instead, they have been compared to other longtime Hollywood pairs who remain committed despite never officially tying the knot, such as Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell.

Sarandon stars in "The Lovely Bones," opening worldwide next month. Robbins last appeared in 2008's "City of Ember."

Hey before you blame Tim Robbins remember this. Nobody forced Susan to make Mr. Woodcock starring Susan Sarandon, Billy Bob Thornton, Ethan Suplee, Seann William Scott, Amy Poehler, Melissa Sagemiller, Tami Reiker.

The break up of a long term relationship is tremendously painful, whatever the reasons. One can only hope that they and their children get through it the best way they can. Hopefully, they will be able to remain friendly, and the best of luck to them both.

this is sad.. i liked them as a couple.. but hey nothing last forever i guess..

at least they don't have to get divorce lawyers.. LOL.. they have to split things up manually . i guess take whatevers in their own name.. and if they got something together.. come to some decision.. guess buy each other out..

no lawyers will be making any payday out of this..

Below and above this post you will find many posts saying that this (admittedly minor, gossipy) story shouldn't be posted on Huffpo because it's not relevant. Each of those (admittedly hypocritical) posts will have taken their oh so precious time to tell us we shouldn't be wasting time.

And of course there will alo be unacomplished wingnuts to criticize the 2 (admittedly talented) actors. Nor will they contest anything specific that either actor has said or advocated. Weak.
