BOULDER, Colo. — The father of JonBenet Ramsey is making a public plea for help in finding his daughter's killer 13 years after she was found strangled in the basement of her family's Colorado home.

John Ramsey said in a statement Wednesday that he is asking people to share any suspicions they had or recollections of people acting strangely around the time the 6-year-old girl died.

JonBenet was found bludgeoned and strangled Dec. 26, 1996.

A former prosecutor said at the time that Ramsey and his wife, Patsy, were "under an umbrella" of suspicion, but authorities cleared them in 2007. Authorities said new DNA tests pointed to an unknown outsider.

Police continue to investigate the case.

Patsy Ramsey died from cancer in 2006.

John, you know who killed her. She's beyond the DA's reach. As the famous criminologist Henry Lee from Connecticut said, "it was an accident staged as a murder." All the supposed DNA evidence is trace DNA from casual contact. There is no semen, no fluid, in JBR's panties, just the trace DNA from those at the factory who packaged the panties. There is no defensive DNA under her fingernails, just the traces we get when we shake someone's hand.

Rich, well educated people commit atrocities all the time.

What is it, John? Are you bored without media attention? When is your son going to talk? Why don't you all just go away instead of reminding us of this horrific crime?

I suggest you read the JonBenet Ramsey section of John Douglas's "The Cases That Haunt Us" before you immediately assume that this father and/or the mother garroted their own child (which has never been done in the known history of criminality.)

Not sure about that. Douglas was chosen to exonerate the R's.

"Someone else's DNA" could still have been a "friend of the family."

I live in Boulder. Most of us stopped wondering years ago when local Boulder Police Chief Beckner would finally convict Jon Benet for the crime. Boulder police are about as competent as the Three Stooges.

Why would he want to convict JonBenet of her own m urder?

I'd like to hear from the son. He should be old enough now to speak his mind.

I lived in Colorado when this happened. We heard things in the Denver media that weren't mentioned outside of Colorado. I'd want to know WHERE the DNA was found. I have always believed John and Patsy knew who did it. Always will believe that.

I lived there at the time, too. I read every news article and watched the local news stories as well as the Ramsey-directed tv interviews when they wouldn't talk to the police. DNA was talked about from the start... was it from the housekeeper who did the laundry, etc. Patsy wrote that letter. If neither of the parents are guilty, it was probably a Christmas party invitee. It is just all too fishy. Nobody should be tarting up a small child, teaching her those pelvic thrusts, bleaching her hair, etc. SICK.

You really want me to recall my suspicions at the time?

Ok, I think you were doing something nasty, your wife found you and in the rage she accidentally killed Jon Benet.

But you go on doing your OJ thing.

By the way, you still tapping Natalie Holloway's mother?

As in the OJ case it was police and prosecutorial incompetence that has led to this case being unresolved.

Technically, I said technically, the OJ case is unresolved because he was found not guilty.

In the Ramsey case the police searched their house, found nothing, let them back in and then the father finds the body (thereby disturbing evidence) in the basement. That was official bungling on par with making OJ try on the gloves.

Why would anyone make his daughter dress like that girl did?

Good question.

And I think it is a question that the writers and producers of "Little Miss Sunshine" asked as well.

The only person acting "strangely" around the time of the murder was YOU!
04:38 PM on 12/24/2009
Did you read the article? Have you paid attention? They found DNA that points to UNKNOWN person. And DNA is clear enough that the police actually apologized to the Ramsey's.
05:46 PM on 12/24/2009
That little fact seems to escape some of the stoopids on here. The man and his wife were cleared of any wrongdoing because of DNA testing. I feel so bad for Mr. Ramsey having to endure this especially since his wife died. It must be difficult for him to even want to wake up in the morning.

Some of the people here on HP are just so incredibly heartless.
