people.com:

Here's something Nicolas Cage didn't want for Christmas: Another multimillion dollar lawsuit.

Cage, 45, who says he's facing financial ruin after allegedly being duped by his former accountant, is being sued by a real estate company who says he failed to repay more than $5 million in loans.

I liked Nick in "Matchstick Men". The rest of his work seems like "B" movie action pictures and sequels.

I love his non-acting ability !

Arnold S. is leaving soon , Cage might try a run for the politico.

Anyone who thinks this guy made it on his own is a fool. Everybody in the industry knew he was Coppola's. nephew, so if he thought changing his name to Cage hid this fact he was only fooling himself.

Actually, it would have been braver had he kept his birthname, like his cousin Sofia did.

And by the way, she's the real second-generation wunderkind, not him.

The guy is a self-centered weirdo. Bavarian Castles, marrying Elvis' kid, making the same movie 50 times, comic book collections, refusing to appear anywhere with other big name actors, 25 houses, etc, etc, etc...

I've got to take back some of the nasty things I've said about this guy.

Read his resume; it's impressive.

I could be wrong here, but my sense is other actors don't respect this guy, that they don't like the way he's turned the art of acting into an assembly line production where you can have any color you want as long as it's Nicolas Cage.

Nick Cage has a resume that any actor would be proud of. Not all his movies were great, and not all his acting was up to par, but I always liked the guy and usually enjoyed his work quite a bit.

I hope the best for him, and his lovely and child. He's a talented guy and I'm sure they'll bounce back.

Can we all say in Unison, LOOSER!!!!!!!. How bout, "GROW UP!!!" or, "RANDOM ACTS OF SANITY!"?? Do you think he realize that all of this is his own fault????

What's a "looser"? Is that a person who let's loose something. Seriously. If you're going to be mean to someone, do it right.

He's already sold off his multi-million dollar comic book and movie poster collection, and is making any movie offered.

Pity.

Never could stand him as an actor. To me he's right up there with Keanu Reeves. The "acting" seems too painful and contrived, as though they are trying to prove they are really working at it.
I don't really know how you can go from making all that loot from movies to being up to your eyeballs in debt, but I suppose having more houses than you can keep track of is probably a good way to start.
For once I'd like to see one of these overrated "blockbuster" stars actually live a modest lifestyle, with say only a summer and winter home, one exotic car for image and a life that approaches normality. I suspect that if you did that, you'd become a legend in Hollywood and people would think you were pretty cool, to the point of deserving emulation.

The problem with Cage and a few other stars is that they can never escape into their roles...no matter who they're suppposed to be portraying, all you see is "them", as in "Nicholas Cage as a car thief", or "Tom Cruise as a secret agent".
It doesn't help Cage that he almost always "acts" the same way in each role - especially later in his career...
