Apple

Los Angeles Times:

Santa arrived early for Apple Inc. shareholders: The stock surged $6.94, or 3.4%, on Thursday to close at a record high of $209.04. That topped the previous closing high of $207 on Nov. 17.

The buzz continues to build about the company's widely anticipated -- albeit unconfirmed -- tablet computer. The Financial Times reported that Apple has rented a stage at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco in late January, most likely for a product announcement.

APPLEBOTS will rule this next decade. ALL ABOARD!!!!!!

As the decade draws to a close, and having its CEO being the decade of the year nominee with its 2 of the products (iPod and iPhone) hailed as one of the best gadgets of the decade, this story is obviously way predicted, Way to go apple! Job well done. A fat decade ahead of you.

Following the glorious path, hopefully their new tablet a.k.a iSlate will perform its goal on 2010 ,'a yet another phenomenal gadget for the decade' Details: http://bit.ly/new-apple-tablet-best-or-worst .

2 of the best gadgets of the decade? They aren't even the best in their categories.

The iPhone? Try an Android phone (the G1 or MyTouch, most prominently) and then get back to me. They put the iPhone to shame.

And the iPod? Clever marketing, but low on functionality compared to similar offerings from Microsoft, Sansa, and others.

Probably make even more mistakes...

Being in the design business i've always used Apple because in the 1980's Apple's Graphics programs were so much more advanced then PC. We the 10% of the computer market have been loyal Apple customers even thru the dark days of the early 1990's when it looked like Microsoft was about to swallow Apple up.

When Apple first launched its iPod and I saw how quickly young kids took to it, so I starting buying Apple stock. I knew when these kids grow up they'll be loyal Apple brand customers because the PC will seem so passé to them.

Apple and Steve Jobs rock!

Really? These kids are already entering the workforce, and you know what they're using? High end PC's. They care about power and performance when it comes to their machines (whereas an mp3 player is all about style).

Great, another useless POS from Apple. Watch the die hards, with credit card in hand, line up for days for this gadget.

Perhaps Obama can hire steve jobs as an economic advisor to help turn the economy around?

Why would hp post a fake photo of a product to go with this story?
03:56 PM on 12/26/2009
on top of that why would hp post a story about $6 "surge" on a $200+ stock? Apple has to be paying for advertising or something.

You're just now "getting it" that Apple pays for viral marketing t hrough this site?

Yes...with EPS estimated at $6.29/share they still won't pay a dividend (even a special one) or split the stock. The swine!
03:59 AM on 12/26/2009
splitting it will only makes it more attractive to day traders, if you can't afford to invest, go play/trade somewhere else!!!

I've owned Apple for years, sweetie. Except for the appreciated stock price, what reward has this cash cow given to its investors???
04:26 PM on 12/26/2009
it split once since steve came back. it was at 11 when he took over.
