Jay Cutler Middle Finger PHOTOS: Pictures Of QB Flicking Off Crowd?

First Posted: 03/18/10 06:12 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 04:05 PM ET

During last night's Bears-Vikings game on Monday Night Football, the Vikings tied the game up at 30-30 with less than a minute remaining in regulation. The Bears took possession of the ball with nine seconds left and took a knee to send the ball to overtime rather than try for a quick score to end the game immediately. The crowd booed vociferously, and ProFootballTalk thought they may have caught Bears quarterback Jay Cutler giving the finger after the play.

A reader posted a pair of pictures to Twitter that appear to show Cutler flipping the bird. Of course, it is difficult to be 100% sure that Cutler is indeed making the offensive gesture, and even if he is, it is impossible to know with certainty exactly who is the intended recipient. Scroll down for photos of the incident.

Quick Poll

What was Jay Cutler doing with his hand?

Proudly giving the finger

Flashing a peace sign

I don't care if Jay gave the bird. The crap he's been given this season, mostly deserved some not. On top of that did the Bears not know what they were getting themselves into when signing him, especially after the verbal back and forth with Rivers last season. I'm actually glad he did it, it proves to me he still gives a damn.

Living in Chicago for a long time
and having attended my fair share
of sporting events here and I will
tell you the fans come to the games
and exhibit their very worst behaviors!

From running onto the field to assault
the visiting teams first base coach during
a WhiteSox game a few years ago to
taking the cap off of LA Dodgers relief
pitchers at a Cubs game. You get these
young fans who get all tanked up with beer
and then they act in ways they normally would not

So, if Jay Cutler is flipping off an obnoxious
fan at a Bear game GOOD! because many
of the fans are drunken hooligans who feel
it is their right to come to the park and make complete
asses out of themselves at the rest of our expense!

oh, these whippersnappers today... things were different when i was young. yeah, these kids today- no respect. these 'hooligans', as you put it, are ruining the purity of the multi-billion dollar state of the No Fun League.

get over it. grow-up. if you don't like how we 'act' at the games, don't go to the games. simple.

Funny. When Michael Vick did it, the gesture became a major news story both print and TV. White quarterback does it and you have to find it on HP.

funny, i wonder why people with such obsessive political earnestness even READ the sports section. and now I know... it's to complain. and complain. and complain. and then complain some more.

it's SPORTS. any stereotyping is the fault of the eyes seeing it. you're seeing it. act accordingly.

Big Jay will silence the critics next year and they will still be crying about something or making up stupid scenarios that may not even be close to the truth still. Go BEARS!

At a college game, one football player punched the other football player in the head, and knocked him out. Football isn't a game for the Miss Manners set. It's more for the beer gut/fortified wine/wife-beater T-shirt/tattoos set. Football is the modern Gladiator game. People expect the stars to be flamboyant, aggressive, and all that. If they weren't, football would be boring, dreary, and no one would watch. But, people do watch. Some fans are bloodthirsty, and violent and rude themselves. But, they buy T-shirts, beer, hats, bet on the game scores, help keep the franchise alive..and, maybe that's a good reason for players to NOT flip off the fans, because without the fans, it's just a guy in a crash helmet and skintight pants and plastic pads on his way to the employment office.

They used to have some kind of standards for sportsmanlike conduct, but I think those went the same way as the doping regulations. People want to watch Manimal chase a ball? Ok, fine with me, but I would never shell out the money to watch a football game, either live, or on pay-per-view.

Maybe this guy will get lucky, be one of the football millionaires. Or, he'll end up selling deodorant on TV.

Nextt time the players gather at midfield after the game for prayer. I'll ask them to pray for you.

Once upon a time a player named Michael Vick was caught flipping the bird to a bunch of Saints fans 3 rows below us, but thankfully nobody made a big deal of it...so i just hope and pray the media will be as forgiving to Cutler.

That game was excruciating. Going into overtime was lemon juice in the paper cut.

Where is the flag?

The Ref is right behind him and I am sure that gesture falls under the classification of UN-SPORTSMAN LIKE CONDUCT!

Now if he was flashing it at his head coach and the guy in the booth calling all those goofy plays, I say fantastic.

Favre didn't like some of the plays being sent in and Cutler didn't either.

Any QB that can do the deep drop roll-out and throw on the fly the way Cutler can should be playing in the Miami wildcat offense and not this Chicago frozen casket offense.

One of my favorite "finds" while going through some of my dad's things when he died was a plaque my brother had given him of Coach Ditka flipping off a group of reporters.

I'm was looking 2 get the Vikes out the way 2 improve the Eagles playoff picture. Cutler taking a knee instead of pulling a fast one hurt, ameliorated by the awarding of the goat horns 2 Petersen. I put no faith in OT.
