Huffington Post/AP   First Posted: 03/18/10 06:12 AM ET   Updated: 05/25/11 03:55 PM ET

The AP came out with their picks for the ten best albums of the decade. Here they are, and we'll leave it up to you to decide whether or not they deserve the honor. Send in your suggestions for the decade's best album and we'll add them and come up with our own top ten list.

Best Albums Of The Decade
What do you think was the best album of the decade? Upload a picture of the album art, put the album title and artist's name in the 'Slide Title' field, and feel free to add a caption.
Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot

glassrope:
It's the best album of the decade, hands down. By turns dense, heartbreaking, poppy and challenging, it's Wilco at the height of its creativity as a band, not merely as a vehicle for Jeff Tweedy's genius. Add to that the drama surrounding its initial refusal and eventual release by two different arms of the same corporate leviathan? How can you leave this album out unless you're last decade's Rip Van Winkle?

The fact that Adam Lambert is #1 is evidence that either 4chan invaded the poll, or that HuffPost readers shouldn't vote on an album they haven't listened to.

well, at least there are a couple good albums HP has to choose from. 50 cent and eminem though?

i know it's really early to say this, but i think the Girls dubut Album is incredible and possibly one of the best of the last ten years put out. I also like:

F*c/< Buttons - Street Horrrsing
Deerhunter - Microcastle
Santigold - s/t
No Age - Nouns
...but those are all kinda recent too. I guess I'd have to have a look at my record collection to remember better. ten years is a long time haha.

The thing is, when everybody refers to decades as "the 30s" or "the 90s" it's absurd to say those periods don't include 1930 and 1990, respectively. The "library science" way of designating decades ("FICTION 1971-1980") is separate from the popular usage.

AP's list is a joke. They limited the decade to two genres, which usually doesn't generate a lot of value other than entertainment (kind of like a Steve Martin movie). If their writers does not have the time to listen to albums to make a valuable critic, maybe they shouldn't do the critic in the first place.

OMG. "Sea Change" by Beck? He has two other albums this decade that were much more wonderful. Why not "Odelay" which is fabulous!!!! That was to be my rant but then I looked it up and "Odelay" is oh, about FIFTEEN YEARS OLD!!!!

Am I the only one who feels like it's still 1996?????

Just 7 of many great albums in the decade:

Tom Waits "Real Gone" 2004
Leonard Cohen "Live in London" 2009
Kate Bush "Aerial" 2005
Kris Kristofferson "This Old Road" 2006
Steve Earle "The Revolution Starts Now" 2004
Yusef "Roadsinger" 2009
Polkastra "Apolkalypse Now" 2009

How can you limit it to 10 best albums of the decade? The metallic end of the spectrum isn't even represented here.

Probot
Machine Head
Prong
Ministry
Mastadon
Death Angel

Radiohead & Beck are on the list but I would have chose different albums.

How about some of these bands that added some flavor to this decade?
The Strokes
Wolfmother
Outcast
Gnarls Barkley
Shakira
Lady Gaga
Queens of the Stone Age

Nine Inch Nails &
Pearl Jam are still making amazing albums

And Bob Dylan, you've got to add him to the list for being such an influence, so prolific and persistent.
Here Comes Santa was my favorite song this X-Mas.

I didn't know they were going to do an album together. That would be fire.

DangerMouse (w/ Jay-Z and The Beatles) the Grey Album.
not only a fantastic listen, but heralding the era of the Mash Up

Gnarls Barkley - The Odd Couple.
Soul meets phat beats. Dangermouse and CeeLo have heart, and they have pop.

Outkast - Speakerboxx/The Love Below.
Leaving this double album off is a tragedy. Experimentation and pop hits, all 9w)rapped into one great offering.
